So, in kind of desparation, I dug out and started watching Spider-Man the "new" animated series (the CGI one from 2003, hense the parenthesese, the one that ran on MTV I think). First three episodes, anyway (as I tend to watch cartoons/animae/et al in threes). Had it on DVD for a while, never seen it (I think i might have caught one episode when it was actually broadcast, but I don't remember anything about it.)

It's... Odd. The early 2000s animation doesn't really do it any favours, even when compared to, say Reboot or something, which was earlier.

What about the reboot of Reboot?

In other news: today is officially day when I shouldn't do anything. With the exception of two things (one of which was morning hygiene) I was literally unable do to anything well today, from forgetting my access card so I had to return home from work, forgetting my wallet at work, so I had to return back to work from bus, not being able to shedule an exam for my son at his doctor, not being able to call an employee on maternity leave to confirm some stuff because I lost her number, not being able to reach HR to get her number, not being able to access SAP to get documents I needed...

...but hopefully will be able to finish my latest crazy idea for a game that nobody will ever play this evening! Mwahaahahaha...

You mean the thing that completely killed whatever chance there had been of being a proper continuation because someone wanted to make it into a crap rip-off Code Lyoko and a crying travesty given Reboot was legitimately one of the best animiations shows produced in the west (even more so in the latter years when I got to watch the latter two seasons on DVD because I only saw the first two) and is a dire warning for never wishing for anything you liked to ever be continued in the modern age as there is a 99% chance it will turned into a horriying, soulless cash-grab without any respect, if not outright mockery of the thing you once liked?



I wouldn't know; I would poiur cold, lumpy semolina into my eyesockets before watching it for comparison, I'm afraid.

The actions of the protagonist and/or villains resulted in the original Mainframe coming back online and they eventually meet BOB, and the Megabite from the reboot is explicitly the same MEgabite from the original show after being upgraded to be able to infect more modern software.

On the other hand, it also depicts the original show as existing in-universe and "The User" from the original show as a game obsessed nerd who immediately drops everything to play a game when his ancient computer spontaneously comes back online.

Ever since found out about the original plans for Beast Machines before the network started interfering I've been wanting an AU/Rebbot that's just... The original plan.

Apparently instead of the Oracle it was supposed to be Dinobot's Spirit serving as a gopher between Optimus and The Will of the Matrix. Even if literally everything else was the same that would have made the show ten times better.

Five or (more likely) ten would likely be a bit better, given how I don't know if we even have fifty people participating in this stuff. But I'm also probably biased in that regard, given that I've already gone in about that timeframe.

I'd potentially go with ten, but we're likely to run out of eligible posters if we keep it at fifty. I guess the exact number doesn't matter as we can theoretically hike the number again if it's too low. So yeah, I'd throw my hat in for five at the moment (please return said hat before my next in-person date, which might be September).
