    Tolo continues examining the slaves, exchanging thoughts with Zeno all the while.

    Tolo's mental tone is not harsh or angry, but very tight, and very clear.I spent most of my life leaving people behind for the sake of one mission or another. You see, the problem with working undercover, is that in order to keep that cover up, you end up not helping people. Or maybe even doing a few bad things, not because you want to, but to fit in. You know, for the sake of the mission. And I was very good at keeping cover. Very good indeed.

    So when I died, where I ended up was not a good place. Not a good place at all. And unless I do something different, this time around, no doubt I'll be going back.

    So let's ask our questions, as quick as we can, and then work out whether we need to do anything before get out of here. Because the longer we stay, the more likely we get discovered, and then my terrible dilemma disappears. And part of me wants that, wants to believe that there is no larger mission at stake here, and that I was only brought back...

    *If being here is risking triggering something in you, we should leave now. My only interest in this was because it seemed from the note that someone here had something specific to talk about with us. Clearly, that is not the case. I'm all in favour of getting airborne right away.*

    Malleus rises with a look, and pulls out Zeno's chair at the same time she rises. No server had come to take an order, no contact had been attempted by the wererats. This was a dead end. Malleus leads Zeno back out of the underground club, back out through the tavern, and out onto the street. As soon as her colleagues join her, she makes for the edge of town.

    George will not turn down a free ride....Have we checked completely hidden entrances, that might be invisible or the like ?

    As you explore the cells you come across a hooded man in a change he appears to be one of the adventures. As he nods at Tolo. He then looks across from his cell at the Dire Bear. as he comments 4 vs 1 in this case will be fair odds. "I hope my own contacts will be able to get me out of this after the match. Also, careful if you head out to beaver valley as the goblins are now raiding in the area unless you want to end up in this establishment." He with some confidence that he likes his odds of seeing tomorrow.

    As a were rat-man with a club says "You Only talk if spoken to. Squeek."

    As time passes well you are coming up with a plan. Zeno you feel the presence of one of the adventures from the guild is coming.

    As you will notice that at the entranceway there. A small commotion as the guards are looking supprised as a hooded individual is being escorted by three Heavily armed females were rats. two of them are wearing plate male well the other is wearing chainmail. As the guards look confused like this is unexpected.

    two of the guards are attacked in close quarters but the Rat ladies as the other two bolt away and look their armed female were rats into their cells. As the hooded man George recognized as a guild member says "Ladies just stay in there and be nice. I was asked to that Elf follow you three around did not expect you guys to end up in here. Thought you could use a hand. Don't worry about my three-team mates' long story."

    you have the rat guard as well as the drow still in the cell block area.

    So, to recap:

    George, Malleus and Zeno are sitting at a table in a restaurant-like area near the front entrance to this underground complex.

    Tolo is in the cells area, being taken on a tour of the prisoners by a wererat with a club.

    A hooded male and three female wererats are at the main entrance area. The male and one of the women with him attack the guards at the main entrance, and the other two...move toward the cells or something. So apparently the prisoner's cells are right at the main entrance to this complex?

    And then the hooded man yells something at George about tailing us from the Adventurer's Guild?

    Stormwolf, I don't need a to-scale map or anything, but a clearer physical description of where we are and what's going on would help immensely.

    Also, if we're about to start some sort of big fight, could I get some sense (from Mindsight) of how many people are in this complex? And if there are any creature types other than humanoid or animal here - basically, things with special abilities that I should be watching out for?

    Tolo hears the commotion from his position in the cells area. He looks at the prisoners, still in their cells, and then at the guard that is with him.

    Is that something you should be dealing with? I can wait.

    Well, the adventures in the cage seeing this as their best opportunity to get out try to pick the lock in the cage, and attempt 1 failed.

    Well, the two female wererats look like they are finishing off the two guards as they now lie still on the floor. well, the human makes a glave of pure eldritch energy. as he walks towards you.

    The drow from the far end of the hallway calls out "What is going on you incompetent vermin as he starts walking towards the party with a rapier in his hand.

    And I think it is Zenos move on the Init.

    Seeing the adventuring group fumbling with the lock to their door, Zeno sends to the adventuring group and dwarves1: *Be patient and get ready to move. We will get you out as soon as possible.

    Finally, she sends to her colleagues.

    *We may be able to get some useful information out of that drow's head...if the head is still intact.*

    Telekinetically plucking the cell door keys from the unconscious guard, Zeno floats it over to the adventuring group's unsuccessful lock-picker. Along with the keys comes a clear mental message.

    *Once you've got your door unlocked, start working on these others. Understood?*

    Reaching around, Zeno extracts a slender wand from her backpack. Finally, she turns to the cloaked man and the two female wererats.

    *Got an exit strategy?*

    1 I'm not sure how racially segregated this world is. If minotaurs, bugbears, ogres and trolls are thought of as people, she includes them in the sending to the other prisoners. If they're thought of as not-people, she does not.

    Tolo moves. There's no hesitation, no speeding up, he simply goes from still to in full motion. As he draws near to the drow, his sword slides easily into his hands.

    With a sudden twist, Tolo feints to one side, then dashes to the other, coming around to strike at the elf from the side. His blows are heavy and brutal, attempt to drive his opponent back from where they stand.

    Tolo your charge hits home as your sword cuts deep into the elf. As your bull rush. As you push the Drow in front of the cell door he is not in the cell just yet.

    As the Hostess shocked at what is going on tries to make herself as small as she can and gets out of the way of the fighting.


    As soon as the man gets to the group he says Don't worry about the noise my callieges have made arangements so that we will not be heard. scilance spells are very useful at times. Also I plan on once everyone that is going is freed we could teleport to beaver vally or the guild if you want."

    mean while the Drow takes a odd stance as he attacks at Tolo as the attack gets past your guard but was unable to get past your armour. leaveing you with no damage.

    Zeno motions for Malleus to guard the doorway to the cell block. He quickly shifts into a large, trollish form to create a kind of walking barrier to any of those who might be wishing to investigate. Meanwhile, Zeno simply taps herself with her wand and vanishes.

    This is assuming that her first round of actions went off as described, and that the locked-up adventurers are now using the keys to unlock their door. If her first round of actions hasn't happened yet, she'll do that.

    Malleus: Wildshape to war troll form and move to guard the door.
