Spoiler: TFAI’m happy to see the irregulars taking a jab at JJ’s "mystery box" style of writing. I’m pretty sure the mystery boxes are my least favorite part of TFA.
And the rest is just A New Hope, but again.Spoiler: Check Out my Writing!

Re: Darths & Droids VI: Thread title will appear here when received
At times like these I wish there was something that indicated which player is doing which character, because I genuinely have no idea who's playing the third urchin. Is it Jim?

Re: Darths & Droids VI: Thread title will appear here when received
From the GM comments about having three character sheets made up "so everyone would have a character on Canto Bight" and "but then Jim jumped in and created DJ" I am guessing that once the GM gave out the two urchin characters, everyone already had a character on the planet, but Jim's is no longer in the scene. Now Jim has two characters in the one setting ... As usual.
I'm pretty much the opposite of concise. If I fail to get to the point, please ask me and I'm happy to (attempt to) clarify.

PraetorDragoon: the casino will not owe the kids anything because the player characters are rigging the race to make a different feathier jockey win than the one the kids bet on.

Re: Darths & Droids VI: Thread title will appear here when received
Plus it doesn't matter because
Spoilerthe First Order uses the Genocide Pebble to reverse the polarity of every other neutron in the planet's surface, destroying the Casino and kids in one big matter-antimattsr explosion.
Spoiler: Which of course meansYeah that's all bollocks, but I'm also intentionally posting incorrect information in spoilers just to mess with those who haven't seen the movie. The real way the orphaned kids arc ends is in the spoiler below.
SpoilerI dunno, it's not in the films. The kids survive and will presumably reappear in the Rey's Jedi Academy series of YA novels that they almost certainly had planned.
Although honestly that Genocide Pebble idea is probably a more interesting superweapon concept than Starkiller Base.

Re: Darths & Droids VI: Thread title will appear here when received
I love the direction Rei is going here.
"The power of evil rejects me? That will not stand "
Also, "because I'm the good guy" is kinda a stupid argument when you're talking about changing sides.
But who knows what Pete is actually plotting and which side he's actually playing for.
Well, besides getting more power and his own, respectively.
Those are a given."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Darths & Droids VI: Thread title will appear here when received
The peasant railgun rears its head in the author comments. Ignoring the conflicts between real-world physics and D&D rules, I'd think each peasant would have some positive chance of fumbling on the relay, making a complete chain to lightspeed a very low probability event.

Re: Darths & Droids VI: Thread title will appear here when received
Well RAW doesn't have any chance of such fumble, sure. But shenanigans like the Peasant Railgun "work" only because they're RAW when convenient, and "real-world" when convenient. If everything works per RAW, then the last peasant tosses the object as the rules say that would happen - which is exactly the same as if there was just this one peasant (so, it doesn't really do anything, unless you count it as a regular attack with an improvised club with the peasant's stats, which still doesn't amount to much). That's what the Peasant Railgun does by RAW, because the rules do not lay out any additional effect to a thrown object based on its presumed speed or how far it's traveled in the same round.
On the other hand, if you want to apply the (entirely reasonable) philosophy that the effects described by the rules should be amended/modified by what makes sense with real-world physics and such (given reasonable exceptions for magic and other fantasy elements)... then sure, an object accelerated to such an extreme speed would indeed cause massive damage, but the thing is, it wouldn't be accelerated because... why would it? What, realistically, gives your peasants the ability to pass things around with perfect accuracy in an extremely small amount of time? If people had that ability, a "peasant railgun" would be a trivial matter anyway, D&D RAW or no. Or, coming at it from another angle, if you want to inject reasonable consequences of physics into your game, a line of peasants passing an object around would only be able to pass it a limited distance per round, based on the speed such an object would reasonably attain.
In other words, the Peasant Railgun is a perfect example of people trying to have their cake and eat it too. Either RAW is absolute, in which case it doesn't work, or it isn't, in which case it also doesn't work. The Heplion Contingency - Low-tech Cyberpunk with Psychic Powers!

Re: Darths & Droids VI: Thread title will appear here when received
I know, RAW what you get is a Peasant Teleporter. My point was RAW the setup moves the thing perfectly, no chance of a fumble, but also leaves the final object at rest. While nowhere near as destructive as the meme it is a behaviour that, in the correct context, is also exploitable.
I mean the Peasant Railgun is on the level of abusing the grappling rules to create a black hole. At some point every abstraction breaks down, and that's funny, but I also think it's funnier to just leave the actual physics out and use the effects based entire on the rules.
That's at least what my M&M GM ruled when I threatened to buy enough Speed to go FTL.

Any speculation about what Pete's campaign was? Dune doesn't sound like a very good fit to me.
