    The party's swift attack sequence swiftly brings the ooze to an end. Whatever magic it possessed it was unable to bring to full bear against you and you emerge from it unscathed, though perhaps a touch more drained of resources. The purple globules begin disintegrating in flickers of starlight, vanishing from sight as if they never existed, leaving the cranium empty of threats.

    Choosing haste and power over patience and dwindling resources, you slip back down the ladder and descend past the mouth-opening into the bowels of the earth. Judging distance isn't easy, but judging by the lights above, the next opening is in what you would guess is the upper chest area. The ladder does continue even further below, but there is an opening and another 'floor' available to you. The interior is as if a warforged body had been write large, and then partially hollowed out to allow people to work inside. The walls and ceiling are combinations of metallic plating, wooden veins, and thick tubes that glimmer with magical energy. The floors, however, are flattened, even, and bearing similar patterns to the mouth, alongside the occasional symbol of House Cannith.

    Three doors - all shut - exit out of this hallway. The one straight ahead, if your spacial awareness is correct, would lead to a small room, barely large enough for one or two people, and perhaps a weapon of sorts. The one to your right has a not particularly sturdy looking chain and padlock, though you note the key is still in the lock. The door on the left has no visible lock on it, and if you're not mistaken you can hear the whir of clockwork from the other side of the door.

    The door opens into a small room with a large central table surrounded by chairs. A cracked mug suggests it was once used as a break room for relaxation, though doesn't seem to have been for some time.
    No sooner does Adam pull the door open he comes face to face with a tiny mechanical frog whirring on the ground. Its back is covered with a glowing red object that seems to bristle with hostile magic as it hops around in circles, and the sound of the whirring intensifies as he looks past to see five more scattered around the room. One blinks up at Adam, and then together they all move towards you with a distinctly threatening aura.

    Taken aback by the unexpected enemies, it takes but a moment for Adam to react, raising his shield, before he lashes out with his suddenly glowing hammer, the action mirrored by the less solid weapon floating near him. "Clockworks!"
    With his strike attempted, Adam steps to the south, getting out of the doorway, and allowing others to move into attack the clockworks.

    Peering in over Adam's shoulder, Aanash laughs at everyone's serious response. "Haha, tiny frogs? What are they going to do against my most powerful attack, with their tiny amphibious arms?" he asks. Strafing to the other side of Adam, he casually flicks a necromantic spell inside to see if it has any effect on the machines. After everyone has hurled their vehemence into the room, Aanash casually kicks the door shut between them and the frogs.

    Adam and Aanash both swing their weapons - both physical and otherwise - and bring down the two closest frogs. Almost immediately as they go down, they detonate, exploding in a burst of thunderous air and flame that washes over the two closest individuals and knocking the wind from them. Svek steps up behind them and unleashes a burst of acid against the two far frogs in a corner, and their tiny size makes them unlikely to avoid all of the liquid. One of the two detonates from the damage in another fiery explosion, though the other only takes partial damage and survives, apparently enchanted to be immune to the detonations of their fellows.

    Honor shuts the door as the three remaining frogs all hop towards you to close the distance, and though you can't see it, you hear another door open from the far side of the frog-room.

    Adam hits one, kills the other with spiritual weapon, which detonates on him and Aanash. Aanash saves, Adam does not. 6 fire and 4 thunder damage to Adam, half that to Aanash.
    Aanash can't delay his turn; that's not a rule in 5e. He kills the damaged one with his attack. Both saves failed by Adam and Aanash: 8 fire damage and 4 thunder damage to both.
    Svek's breath damages one in the corner and kills another (he doesn't get to Acid Splash - his action is taken on actually breathing with dragon's breath), but none of the party is in range of the detonations to do damage.
    Honor shuts the door and, presumably, Dodges.

    The remaining frogs don't hide, so you know their locations on the other side of the door. You don't know what the other door opening means.

    Everyone's up. Door is currently shut.

    The two bursts of fire and sound ripple against the chaotic fields of magic around Aanash, blasting them apart and singing his face. He looks thrilled at the result. Still, he takes a couple of steps back and aims his hand, glowing with eerie blue light. He gives a grinning nod to whoever decides to open the door, and offers them a chance to take cover from the likely blast.

    Battered by the furious explosions of the clockwork creatures, Adam cries out in shock and pain as he staggers back, somehow maintaining focus on his twilight sanctuary despite the concussions of their deaths. Badly injured, and barely conscious, he runs into the wall near The Iron Witch, the impact helping to knock his brain back into focus as he prepares to continue the fight.

    If he can see any of the clockworks when the door opens, he will spiritual weapon and toll the dead. If he can't, he will dodge.

    Honor watches the ensuing explosion with eye lights wide and bright, rushing forward to slam the door shut before more suicidal bomb amphibians could assault them, not that it would hold up to much abuse. As his allies returned fire, he dashed forward and laid hands on Adam. "Not today, soldier. We still have ground to pay for, and neither of us is done yet." Grey healing energy sunk into the skin of the battle cleric, knitting wounds and soothing his burns with a metallic chill. Then Honor resumes holding the door, making sure that no swarm can form and blow them all to bits.

    With the doorway filled, there was little the Witch could do. When the door was cracked open by Svek, the turret joined him in splurting a burst of flames inside before the door shut.

    Adam retreats while the rest of the party repositions and Svek jumps forward to open the door, revealing three of the frogs clamouring around the entry way. Together, the party cuts them down with spell and acid, causing a trio of detonations that engulfs the kobold and warforged together. The blasts severely wound them, but they were not the only assault you suffer. Beyond the frogs, through the flame and smoke, you see a cloaked warforged whose mouth and throat appear to had significant modifications, opening into a wide maw from which it emits a chilling scream that flows through the interior of the colossus. All of you feel a cold wind of death, channelled via pure sound, wash over you, though Honor seems to feel it the most, perhaps owing to the detonations he faced. Not only is he hindered by it, the icy sound locks him in place, paralyzing him. The warforged leaps across the table, stabbing a shortsword into his 'fellow' warforged, before darting away again and slamming the door shut behind him.

    The turret deals fire damage, which is unfortunately ineffective on the frogs. Between Adam, Aanash, and Svek though they killing them all in one fell swoop. They detonate on Svek and Honor, for:
    Svek: Frog 1 (Save made): 4 fire, 3 thunder. Frog 2 (Save Made): 3 fire, 2 thunder. Frog 3 (Save failed): 11 fire, 3 thunder. Before resistances, 18 fire, 8 thunder.
    Honor: Frog 1 (Save Made): 4 fire, 3 thunder. Frog 2 (Save Failed): 6 fire, 4 thunder. Frog 3 (Save failed): 11 fire, 3 thunder. Before resistances, 21 fire, 10thunder.

    The warforged had a readied action held for when you opened the door, and unleashed a Chilling Moan from its voicebox. Everyone gets hit by this, but all except Honor made their wis saves, so they're not Frightened and take half damage - a total of 7 cold.
    Honor rolled a 1 on their save, so they failed it by more than 5. He takes 14 cold damage. Further, instead of just being Frightened, they're Paralyzed until the end of the warforged's next turn...which is now. Since Honor was paralyzed by the yell he couldn't close the door.

    The warforged runs up and attacks with his shortsword. He hits, with paralysis turning it into a crit for 14 (reduced to 11 with HAM?) and then retreats, using his own object interaction to close the door he ends adjacent to. I think if the maths is right that leaves Honor on 1HP (50+7 Temp HP minus a total of 56 damage?). He is, however, no longer paralyzed, since their turn has ended.

    I promise I'm not deliberately going after you D: RNG was just like that.

    Hearing the chilling moan through the walls, Adam staggers again, but recovers quickly, and can only watch as Honor collapses under the pounding of the warforged he hadn't even known was there. With his ability to heal sharply curtailed by the effects of the Mournland, Adam casts his only option, a quick fix, rather than proper healing, bolstering the health of Honor, Svek, and Anash.

    However, with the immediate need of Honor handled, Adam dashes into the room, vaults the table, and opens the door that the warforged was hiding behind.

    And his spectral hammer takes advantage of that surprise.

    The Witch rested a hand briefly on Honour's shoulder, giving the warforged a brief nod of- well, anyway. She moved past, moving to flatten herself against the wall by the doorway, and as the others opened it and poured their fire through so did she - a ray of frost snapped out and her turret marched forward, unleashing a gout of flame at the enemy warforged as well.

    Though the warforged tries to run, it seems that his scream was worse than his bite. Once you break through to him, he's swiftly cut down, the magic and mundane strikes breaking through its metal-and-wood body with speed. You're left stood in the smouldering wreckage of the clockwork frogs and their dead master. A path continues on past the warforged, towards what you can guess is the arm, or you could turn back to one of the other paths.

    Outside of the apparently mundane shortsword, you can't see any other treasures or things of note to recover in this room. Indeed, it seems to have been stripped clean of what you might normally expect to see in such a location.

    Honor looked to the Iron Witch, then down at his own body. He moves to extend his arm, trembled half way, then forces the movement with his other arm, resulting in the loud sound of mechanics shearing and chugging. "I am heavily damaged, I have one spell, none of which heal. I faded out mid combat. The only thing keeping me up is Adam's magic." He nods to the cleric in way of silent thanks. "Making due... ready to request a transfer to the back line. Any opposed?" He walked silently towards the rear of the group, joints squeaking all the way and one leg dragging slightly. He reached down, and with a sound of bending metal he withdrew the bolt that had pierced his armor, snaps it, and saves the fletched end, tucking it into his bag.

    Adam takes in Honor's state, and frowns, but before he can object, Honor speaks up, and Adam nods, once. "I can fight from the front." He points towards the passage past the warforged. "Let's see what's at the end of this passage."
