Death Urge would definitely be a realistic reason why you would attack yourself. As for your question, its whether the DM view bad luck as "sometimes life gives you a bad turn" or "sometimes life foils your plan." I would think it would be the later, that is, that you would miss yourself, because otherwise it doesn't make sense to have a critical hit yourself be a very bad thing.
