Redspawn are the result of necromantic experiments, filthy undead animated by disease-ridden blood. Their bodies constantly produce blood, causing their bodies to be filled with gallons upon gallons of contaminated, lifeless blood. They are similar in appearance to zombies, but have a strong red hue to their skin, which is made up almost entirely of scabs and scar tissue, and appear swollen and bloated, owing to the vast amount of blood their bodies contain. Their eyes are completely blood-red, and it is not uncommon for blood to constantly trickle from their mouth, nose, and other orifices. Redspawn, though not mindless, are comparable to predatory animals–all they care about is finding living prey to feast on, and transmit their virus to.

    Tainted Blood (Su)
A Redspawn’s blood is tainted with a supernatural disease known as bloodfilth. A Redspawn can transmit the disease with its bite attack, as the numerous gaping sores in its mouth fill it will contaminated blood. In addition, as the body of a Redspawn is supersaturated with blood, any time one is dealt 5 or more points of piercing or slashing damage, it releases a spray of blood that covers all creatures within 5 ft. of the Redspawn, exposing them to the disease. Bloodfilth does not have an incubation period, has a save DC of 18, and causes 1d8 points of Constitution damage. The save is Constitution-based. As a supernatural disease, three saves are required to recover from it. A creature reduced to 0 Constitution by bloodfilth dies, and rises 1d6 days later as a Redspawn as long as it is of Medium size and roughly humanoid form.

    Creating a Redspawn
A Redspawn can be created by a 15th level or higher spellcaster casting create undead on the corpse of a Medium-sized creature of roughly humanoid form.

I no longer actively read the forums, and probably won't respond to any PMs. I'm fine with people using my homebrew in anything, including fan-compilations and wikis, as long as you credit me.

    Default Re: Seeing Red [Creature]

I like it. Could you template the traits and apply it to other creature types? I don't see any overarching reason why it should be limited to just humanoids....That, and i think a pack of Redspawn wolves would be really quite awesome.
Professor Layton may well be fun with large groups of players, but you also have a higher Professor Latency.

I seriously hope that you have better things to do than look for white text in people's signatures.
