Free RPG systems
So what's your favorite free Booty-kickin' RPG system (D20-based or otherwise) out there?
Beguiler, you just got served.

Re: Free RPG systems
I'm rather fond of Inquisitor, although that's more of a squad-based wargame.
Thanks to Veera for the avatar.
I keep my stories in a blog. You should read them.

Re: Free RPG systems
FUDGE.
It's simple, modular, and actually fun. Widely considered the sole exception to the 'Law of Free RPGs" (namely, that they suck).

AQ!
It's a bit reliant on the DM, but I've had nothing but good experiences with it. Simple, easy, and varied enough to let you do anything. And yes, it's free, so that rocks.

Re: Free RPG systems
I like the concept of Wushu, but have never played it.
JAGS is another one, but I think it's a bit too complex, myself. Its redeeming value is the JAGS Wonderland sourcebook (Of which I'm using the source to run one in GURPS - Yes, it's more complex than GURPS)
I haven't played FUDGE, but I must add my support to it, too. From what I've read, I've liked. Thanks to zegma for my awesome avatar.

Re: Free RPG systems
Jags is my favorite, too, it is a little rule-heavy, but it have my favorite combat system, and there some wonderful settings, like wonderland, 13 colonies or Have-not.
Another good one is FATE (http://www.faterpg.com/) a fudge-based variant, usually I'm more of a simulationist than a narrativist, but fate is an exception.
I don't know if it count as free rpg but you can download (legally) the Witchcraft and Ars Magica (4th ed) core books for free (just google for them)I don't make the crazy rules, I just twist them to my purpose
"...the Perilious Path of Crushing Doom"
" Please, tell me it is actually filled with cute, fuzzy bunnies and they just named it that to be ironic."
Note to Self:
If you ever happen to doubt the Giant again remember the "Ghost-martyrs of the Sapphire guard

Re: Free RPG systems
Zaibatsu
It's a relatively rules-light cyberpunk rpg.
