Hello all, this is my first time playing a druid and I have a question about animal companions. I noticed in the Monster Manual entry for the wolf it says that a wolf with 4-6 HD becomes Large.

Now, in the druid's entry in the Player's Handbook it specifically mentions that the bonus HD gained due to the player's advancement improve the companion's hp, BAB, skills, and feats. What I would like to know is whether these extra HD will cause the companion to advance to the next size category.

I'm a little confused because while it doesn't say that these extra HD don't increase the companion's size, it also doesn't say if they do increase the size.

Also, on a sidenote, what are some good feats for my wolf to take? I'm looking to plan ahead.

Bonus HD is not advancing the companion, hence it does not get bigger. It's just a bonus.
