War-War-War-???
So, earlier today I was talking with a friend at work who wants to run an Eberron game sometime in the near future, and I said I wanted to be a Warforged Warblade (which I was serious about). Then we started joking around about trying to cram "war" into his title as many times as possible, but Warforged Warblade War Mind was about as far as I could get (we decided Warforged Juggernaut was just redundant). He threw in "Warmain" which is a class from Monte Cooke's Arcana Evolved, but we couldn't think of any others. So, a challenge, how many times can you repeat the same word in your race/class/PrC combination? And can you help me think of more classes or templates with "war" in them?
(By the way, I think this has already been done to death with Dragon-related races and classes, so let's try to leave those out. Unless you feel the overwhelming urge to post them). My friend and I have a blog, we write D&D stuff there: http://forgotmydice.com/

Re: War-War-War-???
And Warrior, although of questionable use. Warpriest, if you don't mind some detour through being a Cleric. With the War domain, naturally.

Re: War-War-War-???
There's always Warmage. Base class, so you can just hop on in.
Edit: I believe there's a 'Warchanter' as well, although I don't recall offhand where it is. It is, if I recall, a bard-class, and therefore may be a tat tougher to hop into.Last edited by Kantolin; 2008-04-13 at 04:00 AM.

Re: War-War-War-???
War Chanter's in CWar, and yeah, it requires bardiness. Warrior is crap, but Psychic Warrior isn't, so we can throw that in. I was kind of hoping for a build that might actually work (sort of), sooo...
Warforged Warblade x/Psychic Warrior 1/War Mind x/Cleric (with War Domain) 1/War Priest x.
That's 6 "wars" so far, if you count the War from the domain. I could try to squeeze Warmage in there, but it would suck so bad that it hurts me.
If you did the Arcane version, Warblade and Warmage aren't *that* terrible together because there's a little bit of Int synergy and you can mix up ranged casting and melee beatdown...but I like the above one a bit better. My friend and I have a blog, we write D&D stuff there: http://forgotmydice.com/

Re: War-War-War-???
If you're planning to actually play the thing, I would drop Cleric/Warpriest. Starting a third spell progression (maneuvers, PsyWar/Warmind powers, and then clerical spells) isn't going to do you a lot of good and you won't be getting much else useful from a dip of Cleric. Warblade X/PsyWar 2/Warmind X should be fairly solid if you have a decent Wisdom to power the psychic part. PsyWar 2 is for Warmind's prereqs; you'll be dumping all or most of the skillpoints you get in those levels into Know (Psionics.)

Re: War-War-War-???
I have no idea how much of this will get used, just trying to come up with some fun progressions based on the names.
Yeah, I probably would only do the Warblade/PsyWar/Warmind if I actually played it, and I'd probably only take Warmind to lvl 5 to get Sweeping Strike (which is amazing combined with certain maneuvers - and yes, WotC FAQ says it works :P) Sucks that Warforged take a Wisdom penalty though, which hampers the Psionics part a bit, but it would still be fun to play.My friend and I have a blog, we write D&D stuff there: http://forgotmydice.com/

Re: War-War-War-???
War Weaver, too. Although I don't think qualifying for War Weaver through War Mage makes for a particularly useful character.

And while the NPC Warrior class isn't worth bothering with, the Unearthed Arcana Warrior generic class would be good, if your DM let you get away with it.
Oh, and there's also War Hulk, while we're at it.Time travels in divers paces with divers persons.

Re: War-War-War-???
Easiest to integrate is the UA Warrior out of the Generic Classes; just like Fighter, except more versatility. And starts with War.

Re: War-War-War-???
Thanks for the list, Kami. I've looked it over, and there are lots of good combinations you could pull off (I think that the UA Generic Warrior->Bear Warrior -> Warshaper would pwn) and we can keep having fun with those. However, I have a more "serious" question now.
The thing is, at this point it appears that this group will not have a dedicated healer, artificer or arcane caster so I'll need to provide my own repairs. So, I guess I could try multiclassing between Warblade and Warmage with eclectic learning to pick up repair skills to heal myself. I know dipping artificer would be much better but I've already played an artificer before and I want to keep up the War theme. If there is a better way to get some self-healing out of these classes, help me find it. I don't have to be a Warblade to begin with, I suppose, but I really want to beat things up in melee, so I'd prefer it.
So, for level 10 (Starting level has yet to be determined), how would you use some combination of the "War" classes to make a Warforged melee character with some ability to heal himself (preferably picking it up early, since we may start lower)? My friend and I have a blog, we write D&D stuff there: http://forgotmydice.com/

Great, now I've got the mental image of Thog leading an infantry charge.
