    Default Have any DMs here ever gotten any ideas/been inspired by Motviational Posters?

    {Scrubbed}

    I have been wanting to do this one for over two years (a year before I even started DMing) because of this image. I think this was actually one of my original motivations to start DMing.

    Anyone ever stated this out?.....

    I always felt the "Little Red Button" is ridiculous and cliche, but this finally seems like the perfect solution to it for someone like me (although I would use poisoned arrows). Makes me want to write up a whole adventure just for this.

    In case I ever decide to do this cliche plot with a PC, this might give it a nice wrist/unexpected surprise. You think?

    To me this actually seems like a fun party idea. It would obviously be a very combat oriented styled campaign. Probably a military one even, but putting 13 dwarves together at a tavern with some dwarven stout should prove interesting.

    {Scrubbed}

    Although now thinking about it it seems like probably a bad idea, I always reference motivational posters when I need a reference for what the different alignment mean/reflect. Both as a player and a DM.

    So, have any of you (DMs or Players) ever actually used anything from Motivational Posters in your games? Maybe gotten a bit of inspiration from them?

    I just want to say that that last poster is probably against the politics rules, but I laughed so hard at the caption on Chaotic Evil.

    Anyway, this is what I had fresh in my mind when I started playing in my first BESM campaign.

    Even better? It was being run by a girl who would totally do that.

    I am sorry about those two motivational posters. I guess I am so used to them being funny and unserious that I did not realize they might be an issue to the forum rules. Again, sorry!

    May I offer an alternative to the alignment one?

    No motivational posters, but I got an idea for an entire campaign from a Chuck Norris fact. Actually it's a Bruce Schneir fact, but the same idea. For those who don't know, Schneir is one of the bigger celebrities in the world of computer security and cryptography. I'm going to run a Cryptonomicon inspired mage game based on "There are no prime numbers, only numbers Bruce Schneir hasn't factored yet."
    If you like what I have to say, please check out my GMing Blog where I discuss writing and roleplaying in greater depth.

    You know, I wouldn't have cared about this thread if not for all the scrubbed images. Now I'm intensely curious.

    First was an image about an Underwater Ninja Tiger, scrubbed presumably for profanity.

    Second was an alignment chart based on real-world politicians, so was naturally scrubbed for discussing politics. I'll give you a clue to the part I laughed at though; the caption was "so ronery". It's a reference to a movie you may not have seen, but a very funny one.

    Hurray, a new RPG Poster thread! I love these things...

    And yes, I saw one the other day with a pic of Alucard from Hellsing, subtitled: "Alucard - The physical embodiment of TPK." It made me realize how utterly screwed my party would be against a vampire in CoC, let alone one with guns.

    That lolcats one made me happy.

    Though I never got a game idea from a poster, the Riddik one where Vin Diesel (don't care if it's spelled right, I like this one) had a flying V. Yeah, I made a bard because that one was awesome.

    I've definitely have made a couple unarmed swordsage/crusaders as a result of people making motivational posters out of SF characters. I did a couple myself, though I doubt it inspired anything.
