I use braces (also known as "curly brackets") to indicate sarcasm. If there are none present, I probably believe what I am saying; should it turn out to be inaccurate trivia, please tell me rather than trying to play along with an apparent joke I don't know I'm making.

Re: Random Banter #196
It took her quite a long time to work that out, as she'd never corrected me. I was fairly surprised myself. Granted, this point seems to be in some contention...
Heh, perhaps. I am a somewhat possessive person, though; I speak of things as if they are mine whether they belong to me or not. The band isn't, though; I only write and perform music. Rafiki does the legwork of getting us booked, finding artists, getting us recorded, etc. in addition to writing and performing. Hell, he was one of the people that started it, before I was asked to join.
Yes, yes it is. It makes beautiful sounds, though, so I keep it.
...
You make up your mind what gender you are. I distinctly remember a conversation where you claimed to be female, to my surprise. Don't be flipping it back, now. I like using accurate and precise pronouns.Last edited by Amidus Drexel; 2013-07-13 at 01:14 AM.

Re: Random Banter #196
It appears I no longer have the same time to be able to keep track of this thread and the people that here reside as I used to; no point in keeping journals either any more considering how few actual data I can manage to spot or even remember.
He sounds like the manager more than the band leader though. Though on the other hand those two roles can be in one.
I wholeheartedly support this statement in regards for the safety of my mental sanity. The Iron Avatarist Crypt of Fame - Exorcising photobucket from the historic archives of the forum.

Re: Random Banter #196
Ooh, this is like 20 questions!
Possible ways to narrow it down:
Does your physical gender at birth match that of your mental gender?
Do you have a definite mental gender of either male or female?
Do you have a definite physical gender of either male or female?
And so on.Spoiler: This signature is a historical relic from a long-ago time of regular forum activity.Aww man! Even all the witty self referencing sigs are gone now!

Re: Random Banter #196
It all slips away... Little motes of information that, at best, are transient in nature. Memories only being how one remembers remembering them, anyway.
He is, in effect, our manager. Right now that's as close as we've got to a leader, though.
I think we're a bit far gone for that one.
Yes. It moves the information from the amp to the air; and beautiful music it makes, when I play beautiful music. It also has the capacity to make discordant and erratic music.
Just fast forward and see what you end up sticking with. Save me some trouble here.
You're going to make me go back and find this, aren't you? All I want to use is the correct pronoun! *sobs*
But, seriously, it bugs me that I don't know what pronoun to use. Possibly more than it should.Avatar by FinnLassie

Re: Random Banter #196
You guys said things and did like, 4 pages in 4 hours! BOOOOOOO.
(Warning, I wanna talk about my Civ game in the 1000 AD scenario, so I am hahahaha you can't stop me)
SpoilerTime should freeze in here so I don't miss anything when I'm playing Civ. Recent-like, I have been playing as the Germans and my axis of The Holy Roman Empire (Poland and the rest of Europe, minus England and the Balkans/southern Poland, which is Byzantine, along with Central America and Peru/the old Incan Territories, and Africa except for a few Byzantine colonies, then all of old Arabia extending into Central India), the Germans (Southern United States as a colony, leader Frederick the Great), Mansa Musa (2 cities in West Africa with 4 pop, culturally half Holy Roman, a subdued shell of a once mediocre nation), Arabia in Madagascar, led by Ramasses II,) and Isabella of Scotland, because Spain was actually conquered by me and somehow they put Madrid up in Scotland before the Brits did. A recent addition, but longstanding ally, are the Mongolians, who reside in the lands between The Russian Empire and the Chinese Empire.
(Edit:I actually skipped over this... I conquered Cairo, and that stopped the usual Arab advance into central Africa. I then took Jerusalem with elite city-siege-bonus landsknecht and wiped out all of Arabia, then moved onto North Africa and took that too. Now, skip forward a few centuries, I take over France. Here we go, UPDATED RIGHT. EXCEPT FOR THE WEIRD BREAK IN TIMEFRAME.)
For centuries, those two giants fought, with the Mongols siding with the Russians. However, When the Indians joined forces with the rest of the East Asian Alliance (Literally, the Khmer and the Koreans were protectorates of China while Tokugawa fought alongside them), I and my Austrian Elites (what happens when you put all your great generals in one city when an Imperialist leader, hehehe) followed the Spanish and Russians into India, claiming the southern cities for my own. Asoka, leader of India, fled into exile among an island in Indonesia, the sole holding of India to this day. Here, I was mostly satisfied, and having negotiated peace with the Chinese, I began to develop my African holdings.
However, the Spanish, a longstanding friend, had been spying on me, and my people rose in anger. (Cool thing about Beyond the Sword:the random event stuff are really cool sometimes. The different options of "A Spanish diplomat committed a faux pax! Do you forgive them, demand reparations, or WAR[stipend: For international relations purposes, it counts as them declaring war on YOU, so no severe diplomatic penalties). Realizing the Spanish were my next target for domination of the European continent (I had already claimed France, however they lived on in their South American colonies and territory north of the Black Sea), I invaded the Iberian peninsula and Indian holdings, while mustering my paratroopers to invade Madagascar. While Barcelona was besieged, the fight for India was severe, with their cavalry running down my infantry, but then being destroyed by arial strafing and heavy armor. I bombed Barcelona, which was culturally already 60% Roman, and Santiago fell soon after. After claiming Madagascar, Isabella and her final Scottish stronghold capitulated and became my protectorate, and my eyes fell to the Aztecs...
While I had postponed my campaign against them, my claiming of Iberia allowed superior access to Central America, and I began to send vast convoys to Mexico. Steamrolling their grenadiers, I conquered up to the Mason Dixie Line in the East but stopped in Iowa. Montezuma too, capitulated, and while the British held Canada and the Northern United States, I realized I couldn't finance this colonial holding on top of India and Africa. I then turned my American holdings (minus Hispaniola) into the German Empire. (I actually expected American, that's usually the colony I get for America. One I got for the Vikings, at least.). I also gave Madagascar independence, and it took the name of the fallen empire of Arabia and an Egyptian theme.
That's pretty much where I am now, minus the conquering of Inca (they had Infantry... I had carriers.) and tech advances. (GIANT ROBOT BUILD UP. MAKING MY SPACESHIP.):small cool: YAY RANDOM SPILLING OF THINGS YOUUYSNDNT CARE ABOUT INSTEAD OF SLEEPINGGGGGG!!!

Re: Random Banter #196
Yeah, I honestly don't care, I assumed you were female by your writing style, but it's not important. I was just posting the questions because I thought it was a funny.

Re: Random Banter #196
I used to write things down for this reason, list post numbers, keep a neat track; I tend to keep such a system for people I meet, I have a bad tendency to forget links between names and faces (while remembering voice and face) or what people have said about themselves so I try to log everything. A camera on a cell helps immensely.
The days long gone were my sanity could be preserved it seems. But odds are I'll suppress the needless polite hassle this shall cause and just use whatever seems more convenient at the time anyway. Specially considering no particular desire for a given pronoun.
Discordant and erratic music can be beautiful, as atonal, disjointed, disorganized, amellodic, non-harmonic, resonant with glasses and absolutely delightful can be shared by sounds as well.
@Sheep: You've redacted a wall! It's a miracle! This is the first time a coherent redacted wall from you is witnessed by myself! And it's an amazing one at that.Last edited by AsteriskAmp; 2013-07-13 at 01:42 AM.
