Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
I have no idea whether that guy looks at all like the character he's meant to be, as I've never heard of him, but I really like the designs on his outfit.

I'm still alive.
The posing was difficult on that, and I'm still not sure I'm happy with it.Last edited by asdflove; 2015-06-03 at 05:09 PM.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
I made OOTS-style art of my current D&D group's characters!
The new art style is more cumbersome than I thought. Kudos to Rich for making his work harder like that.Last edited by Zejety; 2015-06-08 at 11:09 AM.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Looks good, my only problem with those are the eyes, they're rather large for the size of the heads.

So this was requested but the guy who wanted it told me he's not gonna use it.
So whoever wants this, feel free to take it for your own (unless you don't want it)

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Oops, that's what I get for not using a reference for the eyes. Will fix and re-upload later. The paladin's player wasn't happy with his character being the only sad-looking one anyway. ;-)
Your Ragnaros is very impressive indeed. It lacks the clear line work/vector-ness of classical OOTS style but that's obviously an artistic choice you made.
Edit: Yup, way better. Thanks for the input.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
I made a new character based on my new D&D character. Nothing fancy, but that's a level 1 character for ya. Placing in quotes to make white parts visible

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Been a bajillion years since I posted any art. I reckon I did some new-form upgrades (imperfectly) and one or two new things. Below, the first is the second character I ever did with minimal art upgrades, while the other two are very recent creations. As has been said, the new form is challenging but I appreciate the additional detail it provides.
And Zejety, your people seem a bit off in places, IMHO, but you've really captured them having so much fun!

This is one that I drew on pen and paper. It is not the best, but it is my first try to draw in this style.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Hey, I'm about to start planning a new avatar for myself but am kind of undecided on what to actually make and thought this thread would be the best place to turn to. My style can be seen from my avatar, I like to do them on paper (InkScape made me rage so much ). There are some ideas running in my head - me swimming, or in water in general, laying on a flowery field, exhausted from the heat, sunburnt or just a very, very freckly detailed face.
I'd be glad if I got your input, dear forumites!Originally Posted by LaZodiac

I can't say I've ever seen freckles in OOTS style that I can remember.

How about that? I was just considering adding some to my current project. I'll toy around with it this evening and let you know how/if I get it to work out.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Hmmm... I think I'll combine being in water & freckles for my next avatar. I'm kinda itching to do water after a long break. We'll see if I can get around finishing anything by the end of this week, more like next week though.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
Those frost giants look very cool. Um, no pun intended.
I updated an early work to the new art scheme and added tons of detail, including freckles.
It's a PC I made years ago that is eventually became based in Eberron. A Lhazaar sailor Cleric of the Silver Flame.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase VI
About two years ago a fellow player in a game invited me into his ongoing PbP game to take up a PC who'd been abandoned by it's ... I think second player. I did so and have had a great time. The PC had an image provided by the first player, but the the PC description varied from it significantly. Since then, I've worked to make the PC more akin to what was originally provided. And today on a whim I went ahead and OotS-ized the PC.
The original image I was given followed by my OotS:

I tell you, it's sad how little OOTS-style I've drawn recently. It felt good to do this today.
