Re: [EMPIRE 2] IC Thread
Round Twenty: Begin!
Years 138-139 of the Aenic Calendar
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.
Good luck!
Rules Changes!
Growth!
[135] The Izele Clans emerge in the south central continent as a rising power!
[135] Jagalata emerges as a Great Kingdom!
[136] Colonia (44A) stabilizes under the Primus Imperium
[136] Laraak stabilizes under the LAP
[136] Kharsaan stabilizes under the LAP
[136] Region 507 stabilizes under the Rose Courts
[136] Hekla stabilizes under the Great Clans of Nifhel
[136] Garmr stabilizes under the Great Clans of Nifhel
[136] Region 183 stabilizes under the Kingdom of Berrium
[136] Region 244 stabilizes under the Melrakki-ey Unity
[136] Region 120 stabilizes under the Kingdom of Koya
[136] Region 121 stabilizes under the Kingdom of Koya
Investigate!
[137] Investigators from Avonlea, Primus, the Rose Courts, Ambrose, and Praetoria scour the western and southern continent for signs of the Iron Gauntlet in regions deemed appropriately suspicious. Many secret societies find themselves overturned and probed deeply by this multinational force of investigators causing a variety of panic, unrest, and disruption. While none are found to have endorsed the Iron Gauntlet equally the royal invasion of their private societies for the activities of mercantile assassins puts many noble houses, merchant guilds, and common societies on edge. As news leaks of the possibility of the Pendrel to inhabit and impersonate anyone they please being the reason for these investigations panic grips the regions directly searched for Gauntlet presence. While some investigative parties are able to maintain order in many regions unrest ripples out from the point of investigation. Nonetheless all the investigated regions are found to be without Iron Gauntlet presence. (Primus, Kherson, Andanand, Anceris, and Nettofurikusu are unstable. No signs of Gauntlet presence are found in the previously listed regions or the Marauder Isles, Sasanand, or Ambrose which maintain greater order during their investigations)
[137] The Rose Courts, the Cahoosa Confederation, and Avonlea take broader strokes to investigating the Iron Gauntlet looking for signs of activity at a higher level. The Rose Courts scour the Demesne for signs of the Iron Gauntlet and discover an abandoned safehouse in the Silver Spires bearing unmarked iron coins, a drained pool likely used for the Pendrel, and a small collection of corpses too rotted and gone to be identified. No signs of where the Gauntlet who were stationed here have gone are found.
Avonlean investigators in the Crystal Union find themselves coldly received by members of the Union. Already many are fractured in their adherence to the Union outside the tenets of the Eternal Soul and the prospect of foreigners following a foreign faith being given free reign to investigate rubs many the wrong way. Whether nothing to find, too much foreign land to cover, or simply unable to get past the hardwall exterior of the native people Avonlea finds no signs of the Iron Gauntlet.
The Cahoosa investigation turns up an abandoned safehouse in the Hunting Ground with little more than what was discovered in the Silver Spires: unminted coins, a drained pool, and skeletons of unknown casualties. Otherwise the Confederation reports no signs of the Gauntlet found within their lands.
[137] Without knowing how or possessing the method with which the Iron Gauntlet receives the names submitted to the flame attempts by the Spring Court to discern the identity of Branwen's contractor prove impossible.
Colonize!
The Grey Dreiduch successfully colonizes Region 169.
The Izele Clans successfully colonize Region 84.
Claim!
The Primus Imperium secures its claim on the former Pavos Republic capital (488) integrating the defiant region into their eastern realm. [Claim 2/2]
The Crystal Union concludes efforts to integrate Region 39 into their Union. While many suspect underhanded deals in establishing and pressing this claim all records appear aboveboard and legal between the Union the Ninth Struggle. [Claim 2/2]
The Queendom of Avonlea announces and begins pressing a claim to Region 96 citing records indicating connections to the Stormland Holdings and the Queendom's own regions. [Claim 1/2]

[137] The Suzerainty of Kalamahar meets the Great Clans of Nifhel in Gjallarbrú with a force near to match the Nifhel's own mighty host. For months the armies engage and retreat, engage and retreat without clear signs of victory. Months drag on into a year and while the Nifhel manage to retain control of the majority of the region many of the southernmost thorps and villages find themselves occupied by Kalamahar forces who extract tribute otherwise intended for the Nifhel.
The Suzerain calls for a meeting with the Harbinger but before the meeting can be arranged it is discovered that the Suzerain's mighty axe Maggot Feeder has been stolen. Believing the Nifhel responsible and deeming such a treacherous tactic as unfitting followers of the Fimbulvinter the Suzerain retracts his previous agreement to submit to Nifhel authority should they prove victorious in Gjallarbrú and prepares to march with exterminating purpose against the Harbinger.

Terror!
[137] In the Winter Courtlands of Tir Amser it is discovered that the portion of the Rose Throne gifted to Lord Winter following the sundering of the throne by Lady Spring is missing! Somehow stolen without a trace as to who the perpetrators were the loss of such an important piece from under the nose of Lord Winter is seen by many as a great insult to the whole of the Aeldir who pride themselves upon retaining that which they consider theirs.
[138] Ancerin efforts to placate the people of Lycarus fail, believed to be because of the actions of Kevin and his band of miscreant rebels who have taken to robbing royal and noble caravans only to distribute a portion of the plunder among the people in pursuit of support for their activities. (Lycarus is unstable)
[138] In Praetoria efforts to stabilize the recently acquired southwestern province of the kingdom proves fruitless and the people demand for superior treatment from their ruler. (Region 501 is unstable)
[138] Recently rebelled from Aardrosil only to be captured by the Cahoosa the people of Region 230 do not seem eager to submit to the tribal confederation and agitate to return to their independent existence. (Region 230 is unstable)

Round 20 | 138-139
News and Rumours
- Disturbances in Andanand ongoing, news reaches the king that many of those disaffected by the investigation have taken up the cause of a young man, said to be black of skin, and who they call the Maseh.
- After talking to Baram Asker and learning of the minimal information given him by Aleuta, it becomes impossible for the king to pretend any longer that his treatment by Lady Spring at Melzini and thereafter is anything other than a deliberate and calculated insult. While the king remains stoic in outward appearance, his brother is said to be furious, threatening all kinds of violence upon her head.
- Upon his return from the celebrations in the east, the king gathers a small force to ride out and meet the alleged rebels in person.

- [Curiosity] Continue to build Heaven's gate West side. [3/5]
Subactions:
Attend the Grand Celebration of Villae Fantomae and Azandria
Spoiler: News and Rumors
- Queen Zellevera's first order of business as Queen is to declare the capital of the Crystal Union - Escaye - far too vulnerable to naval assults. To remedy this she engineers a great wall the size of which is unseen across all of Arandi. To be 50 feet tall from the ocean surface, and span across regions 177 to 141, it will effectively halt all naval transportation through the area. The main concern is that this would kill trade, and in response the new Queen has set a group government funded researchers to invent some kind of system to block or allow transport through the raising and lowering of a gate. Heaven's gate it to be built in five stages: The West side, Center, and East side followed by the installment of the gates and finally the battlements and military functions along top the wall to turn it into a combination naval block, trade management, bridge, and defensive fortification in the event of a war. Spoiler: Visual
- Zellevera reluctantly sees Lady Kigva, making appointments monthly to visit her and discuss the state of Rose Courts to Crystal Union relations. She seems guarded during their discussions, but still finds herself learning quite a bit on the subject of their customs.

The Ruby Legion of the Crystal Union
Chief Hemo
Spoiler: Stats5 Diplomacy 5 Military 5 Curiosity 1 Faith 16 Luck
1. [Military] Raise one unit of Ruby Legionnaires
Hemo is fascinated by the unflinching respect of the soldiers they don't try to fill him with arrows after a little prank. Hemo thinks more of them are in order.
2. [Military] Raise one unit of Ruby Legionnaires
Hemo likes the furry marching men, they remind him of the little wind up toys that the best of the Acer used to make back home. Back and forth back and forth they go, mechanical and in sync, yes Hemo wants more of these.
3. [Diplomacy] Honoring the deal with the LAP region 39 is given in exchange for region 173
Hemo finds paperwork and diplomacy in general to be quite tedious but he wouldn't want to disappoint the other rulers.
4. [Secret] Sorry can't tell you roll: Luck 10 auto success
Hemo is a sneaky little goblin.
5. [Diplomacy] Help organize Arenhals joining of the federation [2/2]
Hemo is welcoming of another friend to help take some of these diplomatic chores off of his shoulders.
6. [Curiosity] Help Lady Spring investigate the Larimps. 12+5=17
Specifically figure out if and how they stole it. (Though not who did as that is what Aleuta is looking into)
Hemo does not like getting stepped on by pointy-eared-big-folk and will offer them help to prevent that from happening in the future. Besides it takes a criminal to get in the head of a criminal and he expects to be excellent at finding clues.
Spoiler: News-In the Heimat the Xerian art of digging holes has become quite popular. It is discovered that all sorts of ancient ruins lie just beneath the surface of the earth.
-Queen Eleanor is no longer involved in political affairs but has been seen teaching classes in meditation and exercise to some of the younger Sasu.

The Spring Court
Rose Courts Member
(Federation, Curiosity Specialization)
Actions:

- <Curiosity> Investigate the truth of whom stole Maggot Feeder from the Suzerainty of Kalamahar (roll: 18)
- <Diplomacy> Bringing gifts of spears, swords, and shields, the Spring Court seeks to aid the Suzerinty in determining the guilt of their current foe, the Great Clans, or if someone even more dishonorable has tried to disrupt Fimbulvinter's glorious conflict with falsehood.
- <Diplomacy> Support the Autumn Court in their event. Conduct several business deals.
Spoiler: Sub-Actions- Gift Splint Mail to Stormland Holdings, Praetorian Protectorate, and the Izele Clans. Inform the Queen of Bees that the metal required to make it is only a simple trade route away.
- Gift the following technologies to Avonlea, upon receiving acknowledgement that they will not be traded or gifted away without first discussing matters with Lady Spring:
- Woodblock Printing
- Spy Network
- Open Water Navigation
- Naval Blockade
- Clinker Ships
- Negotiate a deal with the Great Clans of Nifhel
Spoiler: The Grand Celebration Contract of Courts and Great ClansIn an effort to begin a relationship between the Nifhel Clans and the Rose Demesne, the following deal is agreed upon:
- In exchange for the Spring Court's investigation efforts, the leaders of the Nifhel will remain open to ideas of trade and exchange of goodwill
- Matters of conflict between the Demesne and the Nifhel will first be discussed before escalating to war
- In the event that the investigation by the Courts should lead to a form of peace between the Nifhel and the Suzerainty of Kalamahar (that form of peace to be determined by the Great Clans and the Suzerainty), the Nifhel agree to assist the Aeldir in the event that some form of obvious dishonor occurs against the Rose Demesne, and the lands of the Great Clans are close enough for them to raise arms and aid the Courts.
- <Curiosity> Continue to track down the sect of the Iron Gauntlet that follows Francesca Dumont (roll: )
- <Secret>
Links to Rolls: Investigations of Thefts
Spoiler: News and Rumors
- Best Friend Gwyndulin often works with the Lady Kiltia, and the rumor is that even though their viewpoints differ greatly due to cultural upbringings, they are becoming quite good friends.
- The reaction to the death of Lady Autumn for Branwen Morrig to live is met with less surprise then Duke Autumn, Regent of the Autumn Court not only being announced, but accepted by the Autumn Court. Lady Spring is seen talking with many Spring Boys for their opinions on the matter, but the speculation from the Girls is that is a waste of the Lady's time.
- A piece of the Rose Throne being stolen is even more appalling then any other bit of news in recent history. Lady Spring now is conflicted; she cannot stop her task of hunting down Dumont, but this thievery is very brazen. Finding out that it was the Larimps of all people is... very suspect. Many within the Spring Court are pleased to accept the news at face value, but are quite curious as to just how such an ugly group of people could have pulled this off. Thankfully, the new leader of the Ruby Legion is willing to look into just that.
- Lady Blayne meets privately with Lady Spring during the Grand Celebration. They hold a whispered conversation, before Lady Blayne disappears. Reports say that other members of the Spring Court saw her heading south, her face full of determination.
- It is rumored that Lady Blayne has begun to lead the Spring Court's burgeoning network of spies, taking the idea from Primus, but expanding upon it and making it better. However, Best Friend Gwyndulin causes these rumors to quiet down when she publicly states within Caer Bolberta that it is rightly the role of the Best Friend and Lady Spring to see to the information that flows into Tir Amser from outside sources.
- Lady Aleuta invites the Emerald Lady Lilia to return to Caer Bolberta whenever she wishes, and that by the word of Lady Spring, the Emerald Lady shall always have a home in Glaw Novo.
- Lady Kiltia of the Crystal Union is given an additional duty: monitoring the increasing monetary power of The Grey Drieduch. Kiltia is asked to keep Lady Spring and her Best Friend appraised of the movement and actions of all three of the Grey Dukes. To aid her in this, Kiltia is placed on a small team, along with some Spring Girls and a surprisingly numerically minded male Warven named Jhim. Nominally, the eldest Spring Girl is in charge, but the Girl is quick to question Kiltia on the best courses of action.
- The Salvax desperately wish to help with the hunt - and kill - of the Iron Gauntlet, and once again, the Salvax Ri sends a message to Lady Spring and Lord Summer; asking if there is any way that the Salvax might prove themselves.
- Lady Spring continues to make long treks to and from the mountains of the Winter Courtlands, and is often sequestered with either the Dullahan or Lord Winter. What they discuss is completely unknown.
- A previously unexplored mountain pass reveals a difficult - but not impossible - path between Mil Tarum and Easthaven. Lady Spring is quick to write to Lord Winter, to see whom should create the official orders to see that Mil Tarum is added to the Dawnsea Route.
- Before anyone else, Baram Asker receives a report from the Spring Courtlands informing him that more than one source has indicated that the new Iron Gauntlet may have escaped the otherwise careful notice of the Cahoosa investigators; but the Cacique refuses entry to outside investigators, feeling confident in the results of his private inquiries. The Spring Court has no reason to believe the Cahoosa Confederation is complicit with any wrongdoings at this time, or they would press the matter further. Lacking evidence, though, and due to the overwhelming number of dissatisfied nations that have been caused disruption in the name of the search for truth, the Coalition Investigating Assassins will respect the wishes of a recognized sovereign nation. The report goes on to detail information that there is quite likely some kind of mystical artifact or object of advanced science that allows the Iron Gauntlet to see the requests for their targets. This report reaches all members of the C.I.A. Not included in the mass-report, though, but certainly included in the one Baram Asker receives, Ambrose is informed that the Cahoosans have forwarded the correspondences, beginning with the request made to them by Dei Empyrus Pieto Steeleye (on behalf of the Spring Court) to Nand. Lady Spring encourages Baram Asker to discuss the matter with King Ardashir VIII, and there is a small notation in Lady Aleuta's own hand wondering why the packet of correspondences were not just sent to Baram Asker in the first place.
- This report - along with the additional extra information given to Asker - is shared with all ruling members of the Demesne; Duke Autumn, Lord Summer, Lord Winter, Queen Aris, and Queen Raena

Spoiler: Actions[Diplomacy 10 - Permanent Cultural Identity - Imperial Order]: The Primus Imperium - through guile and military might - is very adept at bringing new peoples into the fold. Their rapid expansion has made them extremely adept at making local populations see the benefits of being brought into the imperium, and the direct management of noble houses makes it an attractive proposition. After all, who better to manage one's lands than one who lives there?
[Diplomacy - Stabilize Primus (57) - Roll (27)]: ((I forgot to add courier system again))
Phelnia orders compensation be given to the family and friends who allowed such immediate and drastic searches and seizures of their property to occur. In addition, it is explained that the Pendrel leave markings on their victims. There is no need to fear your neighbor; simply make sure he hasn't gained any new scars.
The Primal are surprisingly understanding in this regard, and it gives Phelnia hope for the future of her people.
[Diplomacy 5 - Cultural Identity - War From Afar - Destabilization]: If the war with the Pavosi taught the Primal anything, it was how to wage war when you can't send troops. Namely, sabotage, sabotage and more sabotage. Eat up the enemy's resources and they will be unable to recover their losses or fight back. Destabilize their lands and hope a rebellion rises against their rulers.
Primus knows first hand how problematic a local rebellion or two can be.
[Military - Raise 1 Fleet]: Rusathye's harbors begin to pump out more ships as Lady Navus pushes to hit the Aeldir's deadline ahead of schedule. While security in the Queenlands is certainly cause for concern, she is mostly worried about the immortal kingdom's reaction to a percieved breaking of oath.
[Military - Raise 1 Fleet]: Cochragio, now compliant, begins producing ships in its great capital-harbor. Though Lady Navus remains worried at the probability that the realm will not have enough sailors to meet the Rose Demense's high demand for sailors, House Ferrus finds it easier than recruiting land troops.
[Military - Raise 1 Fleet]: Breydisle is able to recruit the necessary sailors to board the ships that Rusathye sends to them. Lady Moros remarks that Rusathye's ability to quickly produce ships is remarkable. It is obvious why it was a place of such strategic importance in the war.
News and Rumors
-The man claiming to be a resident of the Silvanus Tower is brought to the High Queen's palace and is quickly seen to by Phelnia. Rumors abound of a trick or trap of some description, but Phelnia is too curious to just let this go. Aleuta is informed, though Phelnia begins questioning the man long before word could have possibly reached her. It is rumored that Phelnia has begun to sour on the Aeldir, though she vehemently denies this, maintaining that the Lady Spring has more important matters to attend.
-Illydae is not seen at court for a long time, though she apparently still receives orders. How well she follows them is unknown, because Lady Navus does not disclose her orders.
-Over the course of a year, most of the Silvanus desert's residents are pulled out and brought to its eastern oases. Settlement further than that is outlawed, which angers many of the citizens.
-The Temple of Peace's ascetics are stopped at the border and brought to Lady Bestius. She makes it abundantly clear that neither she nor the Imperium will tolerate attempted dissension, nor attempts to make the Doctrine the official religion of the Imperium. However, they are allowed to proselytize as they please within Quartus.
Crudice meets with several of the Ascetics on her return from the Grand Celebration. She asks about the stories of Kan, though she does not seem to take to the faith itself beyond an academic interest. She has a habit of rubbing the hammer gifted to her by Lord Winter during these talks.
-On learning that Transfirlia blames Jagalata for the theft of the Winter Court's piece of the Rose Throne, Phelnia is said to have become strangely quiet. She did not hold court that evening, and sat quietly in her chambers, letting none see her. She burst out of her room the next morning at sunrise and ordered both Lady Eventus and a scribe to her at once. The scribe in question seemed to be familiar with the Aeldir script, but given that Phelnia is fluent in the language herself it seems unlikely that that is why he was brought in.
-Princess Vanara Primus is betrothed to Grand Prince Ferran of Anceris.

[Cultural Identity: Imperial Order]: Fluff: The Primus Imperium - through guile and military might - is very adept at bringing new peoples into the fold. Their rapid expansion has made them extremely adept at making local populations see the benefits of being brought into the imperium, and the direct management of noble houses makes it an attractive proposition. Claim 488, 458, 456 and 457
[Diplomacy - Trade 458 for 455]
[Curiosity - Modify Trade Route - The Grey Route - Add Colonia (44A)]: With House Animus in charge, the people of Colonia (especially the Whansis) resume their trade on the grey route, allowing for much-desired silks and cotton to flow into the region.
[Curiosity - Investigate - Tomb of Palindor - Roll]: The Satsujin are sent to study the Tomb of Palindor in more depth. Specifically, they're looking for any information on the old empire that Palindor was once a hero for. Perhaps if they find more information, they can learn where to search for more of these strange and powerful artifacts.
[Diplomacy - Destabilize Truserchen Capital - 300 - Roll]: In retaliation for the Truserchen's transgression on Berrium's soverignty and a deal previously made with Avonlea, the Satsujin steal as many clothes as they can from as many people as they can and proceed to burn them.
The Satsujin are weird.
[Curiosity - Hostile Takeover - Trade Route Secondaris - Subtertius 58B]: The Alevear of the lands beneath Primus and Tertius are absolutely hostile towards one another, but Primus' traders seem to snap them out of their rage. The humans act as mediators between the two groups and manage to set up some minor trading.
[Military - Raise 1000 land troops]: Primus proper raises an additional two legions with the news that there is new land to conquer.
[Curiosity 5 - Change Resource (Quintas, 197) - Elephants [Minor] ]: House Eventus has attempted to wrangle and capture the elephants of their region, using them as their territory's export in place of what little peyote remains in the territory.
[Curiosity - Satsujin Spy Network 0/5]:
[Curiosity 5 - Change Resource - Quartus (47) - Aima Bloodseers [Minor]]: The Aima's ability to see blood is incredibly useful for many applications. They have begun offering their services in exchange for gold and other precious materials.
[Military - Invade 47B - 1000 troops]: The mysterious creatures beneath the earth known only as Archivists are, according to the workers, too horrifying to go near without an escort. Genuinely concerned that Quartus' workers are THAT pathetic, House Bestius provides them with a small escort. The act angers the mysterious creatures, but the situation appears to be relatively non-volatile at the moment.
[Military - Invade 57B - 1000 troops]:
[Diplomacy 5 - Cultural Identity - Many Faces, Many Names - Bonus to Secret Actions]: "The Satsujin are fond of cover stories and names; so much so that adopting a new name for everything you do (from a job to walking to the market) is common amongst not only them, but the region they protect. Only the Satsujin truly know what the Satsujin do, but perhaps that is for the best."
[Military - Raise 1 Legion]: One Primal legion is raised and sent to occupy Cochragio. The two that had been sent originally are called home. This legion will be the 1000 land troops that the Demense allowed as a replacement for 1000 ships.

Re: [EMPIRE 2] IC Thread
The Ancerin Empire
Emperor Spiridon de Altan
1: [Diplomacy] With the news that Kevin seeks to establish himself as the lovable rogue striving valiantly for the cause of the peasantry the local government takes decisive action by lowering taxes. This it is hoped will not only make the peasants happier and more prosperous, but also reduce the amount of money available to be stolen from tax collectors and subsequently redistributed. Stabilise Lycarus. Roll: 19.
2: [Diplomacy] Decades worth of political machinations between the Khersonese cities were brought down more or less overnight by the Avonlean investigators and left the Sea King besieged by complaints. This invasion into their private affairs does not sit well with the Akti upper classes who had long been assured by the Emperor in Anceris that they'd be free to manage their internal affairs without unnecessary interference. The Emperor dispatches the Archtreasurer to assess the various claims for compensation and if need be, distribute the necessary funds. Stabilise Kherson. Roll: 18.
3: [Diplomacy] The revelation that the Pendrel could be hiding anywhere causes fear and paranoia to spread through the capital. The Civic Diet, normally peaceful and uninteresting, falls into chaos as an epidemic of accusations grips the Assembly Chamber. Outside, the populace, fearful that this might bring the Inquisition down hard upon the city panics and many people lock themselves in their homes while others march on the Temple of the Pale Lady to demand answers. The Emperor meets the crowds there upon the temple steps to calm them down. Stabilise Anceris. Roll: 21.
4: [Diplomacy 10] Past diplomatic successes have made it abundantly clear that Anceris's diplomats are essential for the glory of the realm. Make Skilled Negotiators Permanent.
5: [Diplomacy] Hold a GRAND CELEBRATION the likes of which the world has never seen in celebration of the restoration of Azandria and Villa Fantomae.
-Trade Sea Fire to the Archduchy of Nemeria in exchange for the Mariner's Cuirass. Both parties agree to only trade it to those states they are obligated to by existing treaty and to extract from their allies a promise to do the same.
-Marry Grand Prince Ferran de Altan to Vanara Primus.
-Announce that henceforth Azandria and Villa Fantomae are sister cities.
6: [Military 10] Shipwrights experimenting with Jarnvior have managed to devise a method of using the exotic timber to construct ships of war. Vessels built of it are far more durable than those built of lesser timbers and hold together even when damaged extensively, a considerable boon for the fleets of Anceris.
Spoiler: Ironwood ConstructionBy using the fabled Jarnvior of Melrakki-ey in ship construction it is now possible to construct a hull more durable than anything previously built. Combining the desirable properties of oak and the strength of iron, a ship built of Jarnvior can hold together in harsh conditions even when damaged to the point that vessels built of lesser materials would break apart.
Slot: Vehicles.
Bonus: -1 to losses from naval battles.
Resource requirement: Jarnvior (commonly known as Ironwood)

4: Military - Begin drafting able-bodied smallfolk and train them to replace the recently lost footsoldiers.
5: [Secret] Roll=5
Spoiler: News and RumoursThe Master of Orphans has issued the following Holy decree:
The rebellious forces within Mwoggronzurgtraulbaundruth have been dealt with. A crippling blow has certainly been dealt. Those who took up arms, have been put down. Their so-called leader has been apprehended, and is currently being questioned by Inquisitors. Both the prisoner and Inquisitors are being watched by the Holy Order, to ensure the safety of all involved. The rebellion itself is still ongoing however. Civil unrest ripples through the peoples of the woodland. However, I assure you that every avenue of peaceful resolution is being reviewed. Those responsible for the death of the Overseers will be dealt with, the innocent shall have nothing to fear. Peace and prosperity is all that is sought for this area, and the peoples who call it home.
The loss of smallfolk sent to settle this dispute, while minor in number, was still a regrettable event. The Holy Order is taking on more, to replace those loss, while simultaneously sending out payments to the families of the lost, equal to the projected total of their life's wages. The Council and Noble Houses, especially those responsible for the uprising in the first place are to carry the majority burden of these payments. With the replacement troops likewise primarily coming from their holdings.
It has come to the attention of the Holy Order that some wayfarers sent out returned, bringing news that a region they had been tasked with bringing into the fold, has been settled by another body. Diplomats have been dispatched to the lands that this body calls home, in an attempt to make contact, and to learn what we can, if we can, about them.Last edited by Catrus; 2016-07-01 at 04:20 PM.

- Eirwen is home from the Winterlands only briefly before she travels to the grand celebration.
- the Conduit Cristabel alarms her attending Priestesses when she speaks of a fragmented vision of the rise of a Prophetess. Where or when this will occur she does not know but is said to be deeply disturbed.
- Aris's dear Drimma guards are not seen to leave her side soon after the words of the Conduit reach her ears.
- Aris is concerned that the Temple's eager conversion of their newfound neighbors may stagnate their new relations, though she defers to the Abbot's wisdom in the matter concerning the Izele.
- Surprising only those who had not been paying attention at Court, Dacia is found to be pregnant with Ranger Caedmoor's child.
- Aris dispatches two field marshals to contain the remaining rebellions within her vassal's lands.
- Eirwen's new song is well received and song oft by maidens during the Goddess Moon festivals.
It seems that my life follows the moon
At times it's half empty and sometimes it's full
Spinning around through darkness and light
Falling so low and rising so high
When I feel strong, I chase the days
Dancing in circles phase after phase
And when I feel lost, I try to remember
That I...
I follow the moon...
I follow the moon...
I'm holding on tight, through darkness and light
Joy can be fleeting and grief takes time
I follow the moon...
I follow the moon...
It seems that my life follows the moon
At times it's half empty...
And sometimes it's full.

Re: [EMPIRE 2] IC Thread
The Izele Clans regions 84 and 85
under the glorious leadership of the 27 year-old
Nonqaba Shoksa, Queen of Bees
D: 5
M: 5
C: 3
F: 6
L: 2
Increases: +1 Faith, +1 Curiosity, + 1 Luck
1) Military: Raise One Unit
Alarmed by the hostile noises coming from the East, the council don't wait for their Queen's return before ordering watch-towers and basic defensive fortifications built along the ridge. While the fortifications themselves are built by workers, staffing them results in more troops being recruited tot he nascent army, all but doubling its size.
2) Faith: Fluff action, no game effect
Missionaries for the Shoksa bee religion follow behind the armies, converting the conquered remnants. With no central organisation, though, local practices vary wildly.
3) Faith: Fluff action, no game effect
As a show of friendship to the Avonlea diplomat, Nonqaba announces that followers of the Grand Church of Daen will be executed quickly and mercifully rather than the agonising torture of millions of bee stings generally used for heretics.
4) Curiosity: Fluff action, no game effect but will later be used as justification for a Cur 5 action.
Work begins on capturing and taming some of the many wild dogs native to the Northern Izele Clanlands
5) Curiosity: Explore south of Region 85, along the coast of the lake. Rolled a 12
Expansionist Shoksa eyes look southwards, and a small group of warriors led by a priest are dispatched to search this area.
Non-Actions:
The ruling Shoksa elite are apoplectic with rage at the underhanded tactics of the Grand Church of Daen - sending in missionaries while their queen is absent. They do what they can to resist the conversion attempts and send a messenger warning her to undo her earlier pronouncement of religious tolerance and lowered brutality towards the Grand Church.
Resist rolls: 10 in region 84, 12 in region 85
Spoiler: News and RumoursThe Avonlea representative is exalted the rank of Ambassador. He retains his ambiguous relationship to the rulers of the Izele Clans but either his cell becomes more opulent or his guest chambers do.
The tactics used in subjugating the other clans cause alarm in some of the more refined nations. It is currently difficult to walk too far in the clanlands without seeing the corpse of a traitor, dissident, heretic or criminal suspended over a beehive. Worse are those times when the body is not yet a corpse and their screaming as the bees stung can be heard for quite a distance.
The Luskan Trade Language spreads throughout the clans and their natural facility with languages means it is quickly learnt. The native accent causes them to struggle a little with some of the fricatives and the unfamilar "-an" ending is often mispronounced leading to "Luska" not "Luskan" but generally fluency is high.
An apology is sent to Emperor Spiridon de Altan of the Ancerin Empire hoping that the lack of Shoksa representation at his event will not reflect too poorly on him. It is hoped that he understands the subjugation and cleansing of rebellious tribes is occupying the Queen of Bees' time.
Spoiler: Misc. NotesSpoiler: General InformationThe Shoksa clan are the pre-eminent clan amongst the myriad that make up the Izele people. They serve as warriors and priests while those of other clans serve as workers. Important people include:
Shoksa:
Queen Nonqaba
Her two year old (adopted) heir, Nonqaba the Daughter of Bees
Non Shoksa:
Selma Myen: An Avonlea sea captain now serving as the Avonlea ambassador to the clans
Spoiler: Regions84: [Good]Dogs, Needs Medicine
85 (Capital): [Good] Honey. Needs Beasts of Burden
Spoiler: Military1 Unit of Shoksa warriors armed with fire-hardened wooden spears
Spoiler: CuriosityLuskan Trade Language: 12 regions on a trade route.

Spoiler
Contract of Courts and Koya
The Kingdom of Koya is recognized as a Favored Kingdom of the southern continent and recognized to territories spanning all currently and soon to be controlled lands (23, 25, 104, 106, 118, and 121-123) as well as all of the southern continent west of The Veylands' (105) furthest eastern border and south of Dunnaret's (121) northernmost point. The Kingdom of Koya generously offers in turn to recognize all true islands discovered by their dominion as recognized lands of the Demesne as well as recognizing all current holdings (8-10, 12, 13-17, 20-22, 24, 26-28, 63-67, 71-72, 74, 242, 487, 507, 509, & 853) as rightfully ruled by the Demesne.
In a sign of friendship the two powers agree to a treaty of mutual defense and non-aggression sealed with the gifting of Deep Fern (23) from the Rose Demesne to the Kingdom of Koya. The two powers further agree to revisit this contract and the potential joining of the Kingdom of Koya as a Member of the Demesne following deliberations by the Seasonal Courts.
Trade will flow openly and freely between the Rose Demesne and Koya at fair rates. Autonomy and internal governance are respected and deferred to by both parties.
6.) Contact Transfirlia in thanks for their honest return of Lord Winter's piece of the Rose Throne [Diplomacy]
Spoiler
Gift the Kingdom of Transfirlia Long Haul Caravans, Luskan Trade Language, Celestial Navigation, and Luskan Trade Language for honorably returning the stolen piece of the Rose Throne
News & Rumors
Spoiler
- Duke Autumn has high hopes for the Grand Celebration of Villae Fantomae and Azandria though time will tell if these hopes will bear fruit. The specter of the Iron Gauntlet hangs heavy over many realms.
- Duke Autumn had been planning to meet with the Kingdom of Praetoria at the Celebration to discuss an unconventional strategy regarding the war between the Kingdom of Transfirlia and the Queendom of Jagalata however the revelation of the Rose Throne piece recovered in Jagalata has changed the plans for these meetings. Gifts are prepared for Praetoria in aiding the Rose Courts in recovering the piece and for Transfirlia for returning it.
- The sudden interest of the Crystal Union in aiding Spring investigators with regards to the Rose Throne piece despite previous refusals of the Union to aid in tracking the Iron Gauntlet despite themselves suffering at the hands of the assassin's guild is seen by some as suspicious. The majority however believe the larimp creatures likely were simply foolish enough to make a petty attack against the mighty Rose Demesne though how they infiltrated the Winter Courtlands remains a mystery.
- Branwen Morrig, or more accurately her caretaker, receives a boon of gifts from Lady Deirma's estate including a coldblood dagger, a paint set of dyed Nacre Ink capable of transitioning to a wide variety of hues throughout the color spectrum, three pair of young trained Midnight Augurs capable of flying through up to six regions to carry messages, and a child-sized golden circlet set with finely cut softly glowing xungla crystals. In addition to these gifts comes a note promising another set of gifts to arrive upon the child's flowering.
- Though quite a few decades have passed since the fad worship of the Old Gods among Matrons of Fall launched proselytization within the Neck the ultimate failure of these efforts still hangs over the Demesne and now the invigorated truly faithful return to the Marauder Isles and Tir Corryn to try and convert the local populace to the worship of the Old Gods.
- Warm relations with the Kingdom of Koya are sealed with a contract that should ensure the kingdom remains beside the Rose Courts should war come between the Demesne and the militant zealot factions of the Crystal Union.

News & Rumors
Spoiler
- Requests from Avonlea for aid dealing with rebels in the outlying provinces of the Stormlands are looked on dubiously by Lord Summer. While the Rose Courts would gladly aid their prized vassal should they need it the Queendom is expected to care for the Stormlands as their charge and the people of Avonlea with a certain level of autonomy. Throwing Aeldir lives away over a problem that might be solved with Avonlea's own legions is considered a poor use of soldiers. Nonetheless offer of aid is made available but only should the Queendom prove themselves truly needing it.
- Ranger Caedmoor accepts Duke Autumn's request for him to serve as ambassador upon Fan'Tierri. The Thyrngar is seen departing Avonlea alongside Lady Dacia of Fan'Grove a month ahead of planned festivities.
- Ranger Evander has entered a seclusive state, allowing only his paramour and his lord to see him though Lord Summer makes no requests of his presence. Rumors about the ranger's health of mind begin to fly while some Children of the Earth murmur of his Speaker lover's twisting influence upon the warrior's mind.
- Egan Oakburn and his younger brother Maelog are seen departing Avonlea for the Grand Celebration alongside Lady Sabel of the Summer Court and Bas Fury of Tir Xungla.
- A large number of Summer Rangers attend the Grand Celebration along the Sea of Coin with many making long stops in the cities and lands of the Melrakki-ey Unity.
- Following the attendance of the Grand Celebration a number of Aeldir longships, led by newly constructed Phantom Class flagships, are dispatched throughout the Dawn Sea securing a number of islands reserved to the Rose Courts by Contract with various powers. Lord Summer himself leads the assault in the farthest eastern reach the Rose Demesne has yet to touch. It is expected the Aeldir skill in battle and vast technological and tactical superiority over the native defensive force shall see the war easily won.
- While official documentation names Lady Sabel as the commander of the conquest of the island neighboring west of Lord Summer's own newest conquest it is rumored to be Bas Fury who truly orchestrates the attack and tactics of the invasion. Lady Sabel herself is often a bit further east with her lord and lover, serving her first duty as consort to Lord Summer.
- A bold dispatching of diplomats claiming historical connection between the two islands dividing northern and southern middle eastern continent and the people of Dherai claim a right to rule the capital of the former Union of Dherai. It is expected the soldiers of Dherai loyal to Ezintathu Tyraxis or his heir will protest this external claim. In fact, such protestation is counted on.
- Lord Summer's campaigns in the south and far east are said to be morose shadows of the lord's intended eastern campaign though troubles in the southern continent and agitation by the Crystal Union against the Rose Demesne has the other Seasonal Leaders concerned and reticent to support Summer's campaign. While Lord Winter's word is hardly respected by Lord Summer and the sly Duke Autumn is little more than a placeholder in the west Lady Spring has always worked hard to accommodate and counsel her southern peer and it is said to be her words that dissuade the militant lord.

Re: [EMPIRE 2] IC Thread
League of Allied Provinces, South Sea Company
Lady Tamiko ibn Kaede Al-Ren
Actions:
- [CUR]
- [CUR 10] Introduce sweet oblivion to the streets. Spoiler: Sweet OblivionSweet Oblivion
Requires: Witchweeds
Effect: +1 to Stabilization Checks
The poor, the downtrodden, the unhappy; though rebel leaders are rarely these things, many draw their strength and their followers from these. And there is strength in the desperation of the downtrodden: They may be beaten in battle, but there is always more misery to draw upon. The key to order is not always simple force, but in distraction. Give the unwashed masses sweet oblivion, so that they might forget their worries, for a time. Idle hands may grasp a club, but hands seeking a sprinkle of powdered peace never can. - [MIL 10] Introduce Thunderbolts to the Battlefield. Spoiler: ThunderboltsThunderbolts, Ranged Weapons Slot
Requires: Repeating Crossbows, Spark Sticks, Thunderstone
Effect: +2 to Battle Checks
Crafted by an enterprising Crab-Clan alchemist, Thunderbolts are an impressive battlefield innovation, crossbow bolts made with spark sticks and thunderstone rather than a traditional arrowhead, typically coming in repeating crossbow cartridges to keep them dry and stable. The spark sticks produce visually-impressive results upon ignition, and the Thunderstone's volatility ensures that the weapon's flash is backed up by sound and fury. While Thunderbolt strikes are not particularly lethal (though they certainly can be, especially if they penetrate flesh before bursting), the resulting light, sound, and force of the burst has a terrible psychological effect, and creatures such as horses may spook and bolt in response. Thunderbolts are rarely carried in large numbers due to their volatility and danger should they be accidentally jostled or struck, and more often a cartridge or two of them will be distributed to the most elite marksmen of a war party. - [Secret] Secret! Spoiler: In the Dark of the Night
A chill wind slithered from the open window into the palace, scattering the trail of smoke rising from the snuffed incense. The drapes shuddered under the old hag's breath, even as the door to the room burst forth, guards pouring in. "Hag's tits..." one of the House Riku men muttered, watching the empty room in bafflement. The men to either side of him stabbed at the tapestries decorating the walls, just in case the man had hidden there, but it seemed he had jumped rather than face the house guard. "But why?", the younger guard behind him asked. "We're up six flights, and there's nothing but hard stone down there..." Lurching forth, the guard threw the curtains aside and looked down into the Krozna of nighttime expecting a black stain upon the plaza below, only to find nothing of the sort. "But...how?", he muttered, heart pulsing. It had been a long time since Old Red Eyes had dared appear in Krozna; even the superstitious folks claimed no one alive had been there when it happened. Could it be..?
The younger guard behind him yelped as he was pushed aside by the Ghul in the doorframe, the soldier's flowing white garments flapping in the wind with an intensity befitting a terror of the night. The sergeant's head whipped around to face him, fear in his eyes. If he was here...Lady Tamiko's gaze was on them both. The Ghul frowned, ruby eyes piercing the fog of the House Guard's confusion as he too approached the window. "The ivy, fool. The Ghuls know this room well, where one can slip away from the palace unseen. The thief is likely halfway to market by now, and tomorrow you will be out upon the street for allowing this." The guard sergeant's eyes bugged from his skull in shock, but soon his haunted form rose from the window. "At...at least he only took one of them. The other is still secret, still safe. Do you think the thief was a Ghul, Dmitri?" The Ghul frowned more deeply, but the evidence was there. Hesitating only a brief moment, he broke eyes with the guard and spoke. "Yes. He wore garments to conceal his face, but the scar across his nose was familiar; a bastard of the Al-Hazreds, once a Ghul but deserted, lost himself to Old Red Eyes. This was that man, I fear." The guard, shaking, nodded to the Ghul before him and gathered his men to try sweeping the area. There was little hope now of finding the thief, but with luck, perhaps...
The Ghul called Dmitri soon found himself alone in the cold room, last wisps of incense fading into the starry air. "Lady Tamiko needs to know about this, immediately", he muttered into the breeze. "Aziz Al-Hazred, heh. Not a name I ever thought I'd hear again. Was it really you who skinned all of the Prevaz in that mass grave, or was that just Sasha telling another tall tale?" The Ghul looked down from his place at the window, almost meeting the eyes of the man lying upon the hidden ledge where the ivy led. He laid there, head tilted so that he might see the man up above, pink irises widening. Dmitri continued. "Come now, the old tricks might work on the guards, but another Ghul? Sloppy, sloppy." The man still laid there, clutching his prize to his chest. He needed it, he needed the only ink with which he could do her words justice...even now she whispered to him. Dmitri continued. "We've been lax with you, you know. The Old Ones speak to all of us, those who drank the wormwood's blood and breathed the witch's breath before we came here in chains. But you were born here, in Krozna, not out in Old Red Eyes' Copse. You don't even know what you're trying to do, do you? Not but half."
Aziz only stared upward at Dmitri's mocking form, pressing the priceless magic to his own heart. The bindings were done, made patchwork from those hides stained with the fall of a once-proud race, stumbling blind into the grave. Next the pages, oh the pages! Gilded, illuminated with fool's gold, worthless beauty that would never age as she had, all the better to taint with her ugly words. Last was the ink. He dared lift his hand for but a moment, gazing wistfully into the macabre treasure, disgusting but of infinite worth. He wanted so badly to taste its glory, but she forbade it, she whispered of decay and the horrible curses that the little glass bauble there contained, just waiting to be unleashed by a fool. No, her words would seal them, put them where they could do no harm. The one above didn't, couldn't understand; she spoke to them, but they didn't hear. The chains had silenced her whispers, closed their ears, but his blood, concieved through treachery, blessed by the swamp, born by the knife...no shackles could keep her from him.
Dmitri hadn't stopped talking. "We knew Kroznat blood was too weak to protect you from the hags, we all knew it, and yet when she called you into that swamp, to drink the wormwood's blood, to breathe the witch's breath, we watched you leave. But here you are, a deserter and now a thief. What has she promised you for the Mirzahib's most valued treasure? What malady has she inflicted upon your mind?" The older Ghul watched as the thief pulled away his mask, terrible rictus grin smeared across his jaw. "Why," Aziz spoke, "Only the honor of bringing her words back to us. Breaking our shackles, cleaning the filth from across the sea. The old magic, her rituals of warding, her secret charms, her cruelest curses, her beautiful words! As beautiful as she is ugly and as crimson as her eyes!" The thief pressed his treasure into a safe pocket and gripped the ivy before standing upon the ledge. Dmitri's face twisted into a snarl, barking at the traitor. "Return what you have stolen or I swear you shall not survive this night! Old Red Eyes holds no power here!"
The Mad One only smiled. "You're wrong.", he said, and leaned back from the edge, releasing the ivy. She whispered, and he obeyed. The raven's feather...the raven's feather would take him safely to the canal. Dmitri stared, dumbfounded, his rage undermined and replaced with bafflement. The thief faded, his form shrinking as he approached the stone below and the Ghul waited for the black stain to mark it.
But it never did.

News and Rumors
Spoiler
- When reports arrive of a crystalline obelisk revered for its clarifying effects on thought and reasoning the Cacique knows just what to do. The Truserchen ought to possess this stone that such clarity of mind might further enhance their natural abilities as thinkers and scholars revered worldwide. While the region containing the artifact is not a member of the Empyrium or the Confederation it is equally not a part of another power nor does it sport any defensive capability of its own. As such the Cacique sees little reason to ask permission before arriving with a large wagon to transport the obelisk eastwards.
- Unsurprisingly a letter from the Dei Empyrus arrives requesting the Cahoosa aid in recovering the Hammer of the First Architect for the Drimma of the Clan Holds. While the Cacique is quick to remind his emperor of his foremost obligations and duties to the Pale Lady above worship for some Drimma spirit the Cahoosa leader nonetheless agrees to aid his peer and current liege in acquiring the artifact. Warriors are dispatched to occupy the region and force the capitulation of the wielder of the Hammer.
- Impressed by the success of Cahoosa treasure hunters the Cacique dispatches another band north of Puesto Yatahe hoping to match the success of the first two ventures. Led by the Pathfinder who discovered the Seeing Stone it is hoped his luck will prove true once more.

- [F] [F10] Concerned that the two former Councilmen are going mad with power (and concerned by Pralkemiri's recent actions, Akimil announces that he will be forbidding anyone from climbing to the Mahana de Rukha - he needs to confront the two. Shortly after, the Lifewakers announce that Akimil confessed his allegiance to the false god Daen and intended to burn down the Mahana de Rukha. For this atrocity, he had to be put down. No body is returned to the people, but Oshenvar and Vinariun announce that the defiler succeeded in destroying Pralkmiri's soul, fueling rage towards Daen more than ever before. {Holy orders give an additional +1 to resist hostile conversion}
- [F] [F5] Spurred on by Daen's corruption of their leader and the destruction of the great and noble Pralkemiri, Some of the more pious Gnolls in Bereholst band together to form a watch-force dedicated to monitoring the Grand Church of Daen's activities and preventing any more of their lies from seeping into the Union of Besina. {Holy Order in Bereholst; dubbed the Watchers at the River}
- (NONACTION): In the wake of Akimil's demise, Oshenvar and Vinariun barely wait for the Lifewakers to draw breath before announcing their new candidate: Phnalus, the primary liaison with the Gnolls of Bereholst. Having worked tirelessly to raise an army capable of defending the union, he is labeled worthy to lead the Union and receives the near-complete support of the people. His coronation is an extremely festive affair, with many praising Oshenvar and Vinariun's wisdom in destroying the false Uca Jajaka and describing Phnalus a a new wonderful king. And so he takes that title.
Spoiler: News and Rumors- With King Phnalus' rise comes the return to prominence of former Uca Jajaka councilperson Cassandra Harrier, who is named administrator of the south (Tumbledown and Evergale) and given permission to refurbish Lonerock Barrow as her base of operations.
- Due to working closely with Phnalus for years, High Chieftain Gorubalsh is given administrative rights to the north (Bereholst) and is tasked with maintaining the army that has been built up thus far.
- Oshenvar and Vinariun are granted the title of high councilor, giving them higher authority than the King himself and automatically making everything they say take precedence above all else.
- Tired of constant naming conflicts with their southern neighbors, the Union rebrands itself as the Hagiarchy of Besina, aleviating most potential confusion.
- Then again, maybe it is unwise to trust two souls in a tree. They could, after all, be mistaken...

When news reaches the Church of an unenlightened peoples south of the Stormlands worshiping pagan idols and false gods the Geshem Proselytizing is put on hold and missionaries are dispatched southwards. The Gospel of Daen must be brought to these simplistic people in the hopes of shepherding them into an age of discovery, salvation, and enlightenment. While rumors have filtered north of the barbarous torture of outsiders suspended above bee hives the Elder Abbot remains confident that the Word of Daen shall ameliorate any such inclinations. The Church has suffered at the hands of pagans and false idolators enough and if these southern clans do not accept their salvation and the love of the Sky Mothern then faithful Avonlea and faithful Stormlands shall be called upon to bring the Gospel upon these pagans forcefully.

The Nifhel will be given two years in which to discover Maggot Feeder's fate, this chance given that two mighty armies of Fimbulvinter, should the Nifhel be truthful in their piety, do not destroy one another before the eyes of infidels. However, if the Nifhel fail to quickly find the mighty relic of the Fimbulvinter and return it or otherwise prove their innocence and uninvolvement in its theft it shall be the Suzerain's obligation to not only take from the Clans their holdings north of the Suzerain but all lands falsely guided by the pretender to the words of holy Fimbulvinter. Then, once the Nifhel are broken the Suzerain shall bring to bear a mighty host of the faithful upon the followers of the Serpent as has been done to build the Suzerain.
Within the Suzerainty Kanel returns to the capital to find much disarray in his absence and sees to the appointment of his adopted son Lario Feywik to the position of Vice Regent authorized to carry out the will of the Suzerain while he is on campaign beyond the borders of the Suzerainty. Lario is a resourceful young man and warrior of great talent who rose through the ranks of the southern horde after being drawn from the southern tribes and educated in the ways of the Fimbulvinter. His brothers, two others adopted by the Suzerain and two trueborn, one each of the Suzerain's first and second wives, do not dare question their father's choice and few among them might claim such ability as Lario. The Suzerain's firstborn, Jamul, joins his father in preparing the forces for another northern campaign while Paren, son of the second wife, Haral of the western horde, and Tyrk of the eastern horde see to the training and equipping of more soldiers to supplement the losses inflicted by the Nifhel horde.

Diplomats from Avonlea are brought in to see to the concerns of the people west of the Izele Clans who no doubt fear for their safety next to such dangerous barbaric people. As the diplomats arrive from the north members of the Queen's Faith Militant are dispatched east and west both to secure the faith within the Holdings own lands and to aid the Grand Church's Geshem conversion efforts. No doubt the Geshem will not be pleased to see the faces of their former conquerors but Grayhall lies such a distance to the west as to hopefully dilute the impact of Stormlander presence. The possibility of holy war upon the Izele hinted at by the Grand Church is eagerly accepted by Queen Raena whose personal contributions to the Stormlands Church of Daen are said to be ten times the amount ever contributed by her brother. The Queen claims to have seen the Mother Daen in her long nights imprisoned within the castle by the traitor Bofdin Opel and received a message that for the Holdings to thrive they must fully embrace the Mother Daen.
Amelia Selmont, a childhood friend of Raena's who had been sent to Easthaven for a betrothal in their youth, joins her husband Lord of Starcaster Keep in visiting the Queen to discuss the conversion in their lands. Amelia is said to remark that her friend seems much changed not only in countenance but in appearance too. While the friends had not seen each other for some time following Amelia's move to Easthaven and the subsequent turmoil of civil war during which Amelia had worked as regent for her husband when he marched to war and fought by the Queen's side the Lady of Starcaster Keep noted that Raena now carried herself in a much different way, almost as if great age weighed upon her despite her relative health and youth. The Queen also seemed not to remember their shared adventures in Tarmeria though Amelia was quick to forgive her Queen for the stresses put upon her by her sudden rule.

As efforts conclude to integrate the kingdom into the Crystal Union King Theodon announces his abdication of the throne. A council of one thousand is gathered from among the disparate provinces to hold an election for the next king. A number of candidates are put forth including a few dead candidates such as King Alvin and Queen Eleanor who shockingly receive some traction among the less well informed. Eventually however the quorum concludes to elect Queen Eleanor's heir and successor as their king/queen, fully integrating the kingdom into the Crystal Union. It is believed the Ruby Legion of the Crystal Union are honorable and in granting them the titles of Topaz presented to Arenhal that the kingdom once ruled by Alvin the conqueror shall use the lessons learned and taught by Queen Eleanor the wise to guide not only the Kingdom of Lignummus and the Kingdom of Arenhal towards a brighter future but all of the Crystal Union.

While clearly not intended as a main celebrant of the accomplishments of Azandria and Villae Fantomae the Melrakki-ey Unity does not shirk any responsibility in playing host to those foreign ships who find themselves upon Unity shores during the course of the celebrations. Nor does the Unity fail to partake themselves in the celebration, arriving in Azandria to welcome arms of the long time ally Anceris and joining in a more comprehensive alliance with the Ancerin allies composing the Pale Empyrium.
While diplomatic efforts to expand Melrakki influence and clout occur in the Sea of Coin archipelago other less above board efforts to expand the Unity's direct holdings continue within the Arm of the East. Attempts to integrate the region northeast of Tagra based on the positive results of historical connection to the region press on. The Summer Rangers being watched during their tours of Melrakki islands and holdings along the Arm are ensured to be shown the constant construction of new naval vessels further supplementing the already impressive Melrakki navy. While certainly no contender in the face of the fleet of the Rose Courts the Melrakki navy is one of the larger navies within the known world and the Melrakki are renowned for their ability upon the sea.

For the first time since her rule began Queen Yildiz sends riders beyond the borders of Transfirlia without the intention to conquer where their hoofs land. Her riders ride to the Kingdom of Praetoria carrying a message from their queen and a gift, the stolen piece of the Rose Throne lost from the Winter Courtlands. While Transfirlia does not generally concern itself with matters outside the kingdom records found in Paridetana suggested the "Rose Courts of the Aeldir" were mutual enemies of the larimps of Jagalata and the fragment of the throne captured alongside Queen Thada was clearly not of larimp make. Following a few weeks of "inquisition" as to the piece's significance and origin a member of the larimp queen's personal retinue surrendered the likelihood of the piece coming from the Aeldir Rose Throne though all insisted that no one had been sent to the "far far and bright lands" by their queen to steal such an item. Nonetheless Queen Yildiz deemed it appropriate to disclose the theft, once it was revealed the chunk of wood held no special properties, and return the item to its rightful rulers via the Kingdom of Praetoria who were known to have some level of communication with the distant Aeldir kingdom.
A missive is also sent to Queen Thada's successor informing her of her mother's captivity but continued survival and offering a chance at peace. Transfirlia will accept peace with Jagalata and return their queen if the underground realm cedes Gharubharade and Kabaze to Transfirlia and accepts vassalage to the Kingdom of Transfirlia. If this offer is refused the Queen shall continue to press upon the larimps and stands ready to lead her personal cohorts into the Jagalatan capital and seize it for herself. Attempts by the Jagalatan princess to attempt negotiation with the Queen have gone poorly. Transfirlia is unwilling to accept any surrender but the one offered to the larimps and plans continue to press the invasions of the Jagalatan capital and Gharubharade should the larimps fail to capitulate fully to Transfirlian demands.

The Sundered Isle of Gorthan celebrates the inauguration of the Second Division of Topaz Knights within their borders. While the Drieduch does not sponsor warriors who operate in the typical fashion of a Union knight the order nonetheless replicates the ideals of the First Division in Arenhal. The order is composed of marines, sailors, and a larger number of Grey merchants and scholars who have taken the cloth for the Eternal Soul and promote freedom, hope, and passionate emotion upon the winds of trade throughout the southern sea and the largely uncharted lands of the southwest. As members of the Topaz Knights these members bind their swords and coin to the sacred tenets of the Topaz Dragon whose teachings are believed to be at the core of any successful economic enterprise. Freedom to purchase and pursue the highest quality and value are what allows for fair and equitable trade and despite attempts by larger powers to enforce their will upon smaller ones it shall always be the will of the people that decides the course of trade.
Once more the lessons of the Eternal Soul are preached in the capital hoping that this time they will finally take root among the people who have so long turned to the virtues of the Nine Candles for guidance. While efforts of the spirit occur in Yahagmir on Gorthan and Westan, the capstones of the Drieduch's central trading apparatus, customs houses are constructed to deal with the amount of trade flowing through the regions. It is hoped a centralized bureaucracy will eliminate wasteful spending and lost shipments facilitating even more trade through the Duchies.
The Grey Duke of Yahagmir departs the Drieduch to attend the Celebration upon the Sea of Coin. The aging commander of the Ducal navies is eager to meet with the Exarch of the United Nihoni Exarchate with whom he has only ever communicated with through letter. Further the grey haired leader of the greys wishes to set eyes upon both Azandria and Villae Fantomae that such splendor might inspire his own constructions and final mark upon the Drieduch when he returns. During his absence abroad Agril, the Duke's nephew, is entrusted with the regency leading many to mark the up and coming lad as his uncle's successor though the other seven houses of Yahagmir shall no doubt challenge the current situation as they always do.

As the war between Transfirlia and Jagalata has progressed, an agent had been sent to discuss military aid for Jagalata with the Princess. However with the discovery of a missing Rose Court throne piece by the Transfirlians, and its subsequent transfer into Praetorian care, any chance of Jagalata receiving military support from Praetoria vanishes.
Many people in older provinces of the Protectorate are seeing shadows darting from place to place in the night sky. Some see this as a bad omen, others feel like the shadows are guardian angels.
Lord Cato Leonis is seen boarding a ship in the port city of Aeternum, many rumor that he is going off to the festivities in Villae Fantomae and Azandria.

For that reason, the Larimps suggest that Katrola should keep the regions under her own control for a few years more, in order to prepare her people for the Transfirlian rule. [Diplomacy]

Princess Katrola III is enraged that anyone would dare to invade her own lands, and in an attempt to further embarrass her, they would go as far as taking her mother hostage, although she is not stupid. Round Twenty One: Begin!
Years 140-141 of the Aenic Calendar
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.
Good luck!

[138] Regions 104 and 106 stabilize under the Kingdom of Koya
[138] Region 348 stabilizes under Nemeria
[138] The Queendom of Jagalata is no longer a Great Kingdom
Investigate!
[139] The Spring Court of the Aeldir and the Ruby Legion of the Crystal Union look respectively into the who and how the piece of the Rose Throne held by Lord Winter was stolen. The Spring Girls sent to investigate seem deeply disturbed by their initial findings and a far more extensive investigation is launched but eventually they seem to have exhausted all avenues and a report is compiled.
The piece of the Rose Throne was stolen by none other than Lady Aleuta Kellianth and transferred to the Queendom of Jagalata in an attempt to further defame the larimps of Jagalata. Records bearing the Lady Spring’s signature implicate a number of Spring Girls dispatched and acting as ambassadors throughout the world as complicit in the theft and transfer. While none within the Court are especially surprised that Lady Spring would see to the insured destruction of the larimps that she would be sloppy enough to be caught and bold enough to launch her own investigation into the matter speaks volumes of the eastern Aeldir lady.
The investigators from the Crystal Union file reports that fit the accused suspect. It was likely a smaller race good at hiding and comfortable in the wilds. While the Geshem, larimps, or even furfolk could fit the profile so too do the Spring Girls fit perfectly as the accused.
[139] The Spring Court investigation into the theft of Maggot Feeder turns up mysterious ships arriving in a port of the Suzerainty some years ago carrying unknown foreigners who paid significant sums (though not so significant that the Spring Court did not outbid them) to ensure they remained off the official dock records. These foreigners are remarked to have headed immediately north and interviews from the sparse villages throughout the Suzerainty sporadically confirm their destination appeared to have been Gjallarbrú.
The foreigners were not seen returning from their northern trip leaving the investigators in the Suzerainty unsure how to proceed. Meanwhile, the investigation in Nifhel intercepts a correspondence between the Horseman of Pestilence and an unknown southern power directing the Horseman to a bear stable in Nifhel. Investigating the stable Maggot Feeder is discovered hidden amidst the manure. What this means for relations between the Great Clans and the Suzerainty is unknown.
[139] Avonlean and Praetorian investigation into tall tales, myths, and legends that might explain the Iron Gauntlet’s secrets provide a variety of opinions each more ridiculous than the last. Some suggest the Gauntlet to be capable of mind control, others that every other person is infested with pendrel who report to the Gauntlet, and some even suggest the Gauntlet are aligned with fire fairies who have agreed to aid the Gauntlet in their nefarious deeds pursuing the chance to burn the whole world down. Ultimately nothing within the libraries of Avonlea or Praetoria seem to possess any relevant information.
[139] The Clan Holds investigation into the Iron Gauntlet turns up no new evidence of Gauntlet activity.
