I predict a forum war of "V VERSUS XYKON" threads, all of which will be proven wrong somehow. But this is much bettee than alignment debates!

This stuff has been happening at a break neck pace!

So does each fiend get V for 19:41 (orange and red at least), or only a part of that time? So purple will get less time after the necromancer was lost.

Rounding to 20 minutes orange gets 10 and red gets 10, or both get 20 each? (not counting the necromancer at all for simplicities sake.)

Things are heating up! Glad I had my popcorn ready for this one!

As I think about the situation, I see it going broadly in one of two directions:

V and Xykon/Redcloak/Tsukiko have a knock down, drag down EPIC fight that results in Team Evil fleeing for it's life and leaving the hobgoblin army behind, leaderless, in Azure City.

Regardless of the nitty gritty details, Xykon will be shorn of his power base and on the move again.

V ports into Azure City only to find that Team Evil, for whatever reason has already left. Perhaps the Rebellion got to aggravating. Perhaps Xykon finally got bored and up and left. Or perhaps Redcloak finally felt that the hobgoblins were ready to be left on their own.

In this case, it's the continuation of the running gag that V has had over the last few strips. I.e. that the Ultimate Arcane Power wasn't worth the hassle.

Except for the small detail of saving his family, of course.

Should be interesting to see which one of the two broad directions, if indeed these are the two directions, the story goes.

It's the time spent under each of their soul splices, so time spent under multiple splices counts toward each fiend separately. V's been under the orange and red one each for - so far - 19:41, so each of them will have however much time to spend.

No matter what happens, this is bad for V. If V succeeds, then he/she might try to extend the splice, perhaps even permanently. V certainly would not let anybody else in the party hear the end of it, and might even try to usurp Roy as leader.

If V fails, then yeah. Bad for V.

Awesome. Can't wait for the epic fight, but drama and karma are probably going to turn the probabilities of this fight's outcome into a 2 copper pieces harlot and make V lose. And you know... They are still maybe books to come!

Resurfacing after years of lurking to comment on that wonderful hint of my favorite crack pairing (Belkar/V) in this comic. Yay! WTG Giant! Keep it up!! :D

Wow, I didn't realize V has done all this IN 19 MINUTES. Killed a black dragon, a golem, and all of the other stuff, in 19 minutes. Talk about ultimite power.

1. Xykon will not die permanently from this fight, because we know he will be within 1000 ft of Girard's gate, which he has yet to do.

2. Vaarsuvius is not likely going to die from this fight, because if he did, then his body will be on another continent and therefore unreachable for the Order, in which case they will need True Resurrection to revive him, and Durkon does not have that spell. He could acquire a scroll somewhere (they are near the elven homelands), or the Order could visit Andaarius for Wish, but there is no reason to believe they know how to find either.

Remember that the speculation is that the fiends will use Vaarsuvius to try to control one of the gates. It is, therefore, in their interest that V survives the fight and be capable of reaching the Western Continent (he will likely keep Ganonron through the fight).

And I'm surprised V's allowed more than 5 minutes go by. Combat rounds are 6 secs so killing the dragon didn't take more than 30 seconds. Chatting with Kyrie must have taken longer than it seemed.
