Snout lost everything but his diary because of the whole ink witch ship DD mystery, so he had nothing else to do but explore to try and figure out what the mystery papers talking about DD had to say. And then after that he got a clue as to where he could go next, another library, and decided to do that. Again, he had nothing holding him here. No friends, no home, no possessions other than his diary and clothes. Now he has a quest, but he also has friends he wants to help and he isnt going to turn his back on them.
Retrospectively, it's notable that he doesn't consult or even say farewell to anyone, before leaving. It reminds me of Dominic Deegan, who left the first village without leaving any friends there. However, DD had no choice but to leave, but he was really giddy about it. https://www.dominic-deegan.com/comic/0270-20030423/ Snout instead is rather meditative and leaves of his own volition. Both leave after meeting and helping an unconscious woman, and running into unforeseen consequences.

I'd propose "The Legacy of Dominic Deegan II: See the Naked Truth!" , but it can be kept for next time there's a vote

    Snout's harem ever grows.

Well, someone had to get something positive out of this encounter, I guess?

To whom are they exporting these fish? The other orcs won't eat them, either, and unless these are super rare fish, other nations aren't going to care about them. Also, fish make poor fertilizer due to the high mercury content. It sounds like Mookie is just bull****ting an excuse for a fishing minigame.

In the real world, that's due to man-made pollution. Fantasy worlds often don't have pollution.

Where did snout get all the dosh for the food and fishing equipment?

I figured they just gave him stuff to make the weirdo go away.
    Well, the vegetable merchant.
The fishing rods might be some kind of "pay with your catch" kind of leasing deal.

The seller is a vampire, and he told Snout to pay with his blood. But Snout is a mongrelfolk, so now the vampire is having a seizure behind the counter. Unfortunately, Snout is also deaf, so he has no idea of what's going and he just leaves, happy about the deal.

He is just so distractible. I wonder if he is doing this in hopes of helping his study buddies get over the mental scarring they have suffered from the water witch. I cant even remember why they came here in the first place.

Maybe that's why she's bummed out -- she wasn't shown anything, be it in a plot way or in a sexy way.

EDIT: Or maybe she paid the other witch to put up a charade in the hope Snout would leave them, but he didn't.

Even money could be possible: Ink Witch is the only person we have seen getting paid, back when she did ink drips, and waaaait a second, weren't those and the water witch's magic a form of divination? Shouldn't all clairvoyance be shut off?

At least these are reasonable things to be upset about. For vine lady I would probably go with the "I think therefore I am" line of reasoning. No matter her origins she is a living thinking being etc etc etc. As for arduak, I would try to go the route of the water witch using double speak to try and make everyone give up in despair. Everything she has said or done was aimed at making them question if they should continue on. Making them feel its hopeless or pointless or they are nothing but a burden. I think they need to go back to the lake and find out if a water witch can be burned at the stake.

This reminds me of this race of beings I had in a D&D homebrew. The creation of an epic illusionist, they were free-willed, sapient illusions. Kind of like the magical fantasy equivalent of an artificial intelligence program.

That also meant that they were instantly annihilated by things such as dispel magic, and that they had a whole Tinkerbell thing going on with people rolling to disbelieve. The idea being that players being excessively paranoid would lose potential allies and information sources about the dungeon they explored; and also hopefully feel bad about it. Sadly the campaign died out before these guys could enter the scene.

His questioning of if she would even want to be saved is kind of funny to me. Like, unless she's in Turbo-Heaven and thus saving her would be really annoying . . . I'm pretty sure she'd quite like it if she wasn't killed. Or maybe you think she's down in Hell, "Oh, man. Being tortured for eternity sure does suck. But you know what would suck more? The awkwardness of having to face the guy I was cheating on now that he knows I was cheating."

Yeah but this is a nude ORC woman! Its totally different than all the other nude women he sleeps with constantly! He is clearly eager to take up the invitation and have a nice nap. He must be tired. After all, thats how this setting works right? You get nekkid and you sleep?

I really was not expecting things to go this direction. But I'll take it as another sign of what was already visible in Star Power and in this sequel: there is no actual direction or unifying trait.

Of course there is. A steady push towards sex. With star power we had sexy skintight super suit that looked like flesh from a distance, then we got snout and his ever growing harem of nude friends sleeping together platonically, now we have full on hentai. Im guessing he has been working up to porn for some time now.
