Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
I'm sure it's all going according to Hel's plan here... if you can't win, cause chaos until people don't know up from down and THEN pinpoint-strike when the time is right...

It looks like many of the high priests welcome a chance to take some action on their own, after just serving as mouthpieces.

Roy was trying to get across that for a split second the woman with the morningstar was protected not Vamp-Durkon.

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
Yeah, he was definitely expecting them to help with Durkon, perhaps dispel his anti-life shell and smite him a couple of times.
Instead they've got a mass battle. Before you judge someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you judge them, you're a mile away and you've got their shoes.

Hey meant that Durokon is no longer protected by their rules since he is not the HPOH anymore.

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
One would hope that more clerics than not will be on the destroy vampire side, since Hel revealed her big plan and everything, but it looks evenly matched for the moment.
Agreed. Specifically, I think he meant that the clerics could dispel the barrier so that Roy can stop Durkula before he teleports out to vamp all the dwarven elders. Unfortunately, they still haven't brought ruin to the dwarven homelands yet, so my money is on Roy not succeeding at this point and having to make a hasty departure.

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
I believe Roy meant for the clerics to target Durkon, so as to prevent him teleporting out and vamping the Dwarf Council of Living MacGuffins... er, I mean the Council of Clans.
So much for a roomful of high Wisdom scores.
... aw crap. Ninja'd. Repeatedly.

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
Bodyguards also give the anti-vampire side a bit of an advantage as they have no natural way to help the vampires but most have ways to at least be annoying. They also have the advantage of offense generally being better than defense in d&d. Can't heal something that is already dead so focus firing undead means they should eventually go down.

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
You would think those high priests would benefit from their high wisdom scores.
Which vampire is no longer protected? Which vampire just claimed he is going to rig the vote? Which vampire is about to leave and let the word out?

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
Well, I'll cop to being wrong on the "won't attack the new represenatives of the Church of Hel" bit.
But I'll TOTALLY crow about being right about the consequences of attacking the new represenatives of the Church of Hel.Concluded: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition

Cleric vs Cleric vs Vampires is an awesome way for this to go. Sounds like something I'd like to play in a real campaign sometime.

Very nice! Great plot development, great action, and also fabulous color.
P.S. You have a typo in panel 3: "ridicuous"Last edited by Sky_Schemer; 2016-01-11 at 02:42 PM.

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
Huh, I didn't expect any of the priests to support the vampires. Since unlike HPoH himself (or herself now), they're clearly interfering.
The Order of the Stick death pool thread -- place your bets! (Yes, it's still ongoing and maintained.)

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
People who aren't Roy may or may not have heard that. Without that information, what those high priests are seeing is that the former HPoH isn't the one actively swarming the hero.
(And personally, I'd be concerned about some crazy loophole, like "the transfer of the office of High Priest of Hel wasn't complete without filling in this form I have right here", but I'm paranoid like that)ungelic is us

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
Hmmm. One of the recently vamped clerics is headed over to "Durkon". Looks like at least one vamp will be ported out with him.

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
Agree that Roy wanted the fHPoH targeted.
I saw two flame strikes. Each does 1d6 per caster level, with half of it being divine and not subject to fire resistance (they still get a reflex save for half damage from it).

Re: OOTS #1018 - The Discussion Thread
Hi people, quick question: Is what Durkula has done legal, meaning is he allowed to make vampires the servants of the temple ? If not, why the heck other priests protect the vampires? Thanks for the reply, I am somewhat lost in this strip.
