Feat: Too Cute to Die
Inspired by Therkla and her description of Elan, I present:
Too Cute to Die
(Dashing Swordsman class feat)
Whenever the Dashing Swordsman meets an enemy who might, in principle, be attracted to people of the Dashing Swordsman´s race, gender and age category, the Dashing Swords makes a DC20 Charisma check. If the check succeeds, the enemy decides that the Dashing Swordsman is "too cute to die", and will refuse to attack the Dashing Swordsman unless attacked by him/her first."After all, they can´t ALL be werewolves..."

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
Might want to make it scale a bit... say DC(20+1/5 enemies CR)...

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
Given the number of "Half-" templates, this would include Demons, Devils, and Dragons.

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
Not sure.
For one thing, we cannot say for sure how much physical attraction is there, on part of the non-human creature, and how much the... uh... pairing is just acting as part of a plan.
For another, as the act of procreation probably takes place with the creature taking human(oid) form, we can limit the feat´s effectiveness to when such creatures are actually in humanoid form."After all, they can´t ALL be werewolves..."

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
Actually it wont effect other races that much.
"I don't date outside my race." is a common line. and usually its not jest to make some creep go away.
Most actually will stick to people of their own kind.

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
I like it.
Is the only pre-requisite being a Dashing Swordsman?

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
It all started with Beren and Lúthien. And went down from there. Tolkien was the first to have half-elves, and half-orcs. He actually went farther than even D&D dared, and mentioned half-trolls (I'll swear they exist, and some of them frequent this forum).

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
I don't know why, but it seems more logical to me to just have the enemy make a will save with a DC equal to the DS's charisma score.
Hi, I'm back, I guess. ^_^I cosplay and stream LPs of single player games on Twitch! Mon, Wed & Fri; currently playing: Nier: Replicant (Mon/Wed) and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (Thurs or Fri)

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
There should have to be a will save against the charisma roll, not just a set DC. But I really like it :-)

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
There's sections in the Epic of Gilgamesh suggesting that some of the Sumerian gods were almost as bad as Zeus.
Interesting feat, though.Folding@Home

Re: Feat: Too Cute to Die
Amusing feat, although, it should be rewritten to not be class specific so someone could actually use it. An opposed check of some sort would proably be a good balancing point as well.
As for cross species attraction, I recall someone on these boards positing that it's actually that human males are willing to "have relations" with practiacally anything that causes it. Makes sense to me. It's just that offspring only result when the other race is humanoid, or highly magical.
As for Roman (and other dieties), inter-species matings are just tip of the iceburg when it comes to their unorthodox sexual activities. I'd better just stop there. PG and all that.
