Re: Will Save World for Gold
Ten more years at the very most means it probably best for him to stay in his current body.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Really. Apparently they already have access to resurrection, so a lot of their problems would be solved by just pushing Odie off the edge of a bottomless pit and resurrecting the original. Or killing him, giving the body to a powerful Eldarin house, and letting them deal with the nightmare spirit.
I want Ardon back in the comic for entertainment reasons, but I can't pretend that most of the characters wouldn't be better off without him.Last edited by Anteros; 2020-04-17 at 05:39 PM.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
I don't see any good reason that the nightmare spirit would just let them move the soul to a clone if it has that kind of power. If it did, it would probably already be taking over every time Odie falls asleep. It seems like it's still weak or Ardon is still restricting it somehow for now.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
10 years is plenty of time to clone another body at regular speed. It would mean going through puberty a second time which would be annoying, but presumably without that metabolic increase shortening his lifespan, the end result would be a half-dragon body that would live centuries.
If my text is blue, I'm being sarcastic. But you already knew that, right?

Even if it is an upgrade, the horns might still be an problem. Unless that can be fixed eventually.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Honestly, I find myself rather annoyed by this.
Spoiler: Spoilers just because I am posting this 4 minutes after midnight and figure that might be too soon for people to see the comicThey turned what could have been an interesting twist and good story potential into yet another fake out.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Honestly, I don't mind it. In every story, there will always be lost potential. It's inevitable; you can't tell every story. Most characters and concepts are going to go unexplored. The key is to find the ones that synergize with the story you want to tell, and an in depth look at the human condition via rapid aging is so hilariously contrary to the focus of this one that I'm surprised anyone thought there was any possibility of that happening. Even if this wasn't a fake out, that aspect would have been absolutely swept under the rug or inevitably fixed.
So, I liked this page. The surprise twist was actually surprising to me. It worked.Princess Celestia's Homebrew Corner

Re: Will Save World for Gold
I personally think we have grown too accustomed of the truth since the untrustworthy character who was always lying died. Now, who can say what is real and what is false? How much truth was in either of those scenes? Were the beginnings real, but the end fake? Will the next scene be real?
I like it, it keeps us on our toes.A diamond necklace played the pawn

Re: Will Save World for Gold
It's fine once or twice. If it's overused it gets to the point where we can't trust the narrative we're being given at any given moment. We're quickly approaching the point where any major plot point is just going to be met with skepticism by the audience. You can only fake out your readers so many times before they stop taking things seriously.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
That's how I feel, sort of. We're nearing the point of becoming Charlie Brown and Luxy, with the plot as the football.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
It successfully places us in the same situation as Odi no certainity whether the current scene is a ploy or not. Works well enough imo it is not like it is likely to last super long.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
It doesn't make me paranoid though. It just removes the tension of anything bad happening because they keep showing us bad stuff and pressing the reset button. From now on, anytime something bad happens, I'm not going to be saying "oh no, how will they get out of this!" I'm going to be saying "Wow, I wonder if this is another fake out." It lessens tension rather than increasing it.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Wouldn't the banging of a drum sound very different than the sort of banging they thought they heard? Also is Drummer Odie faceless or just facing away?
