Re: Murphy's Law 5: To Comic 100...And Beyond!
translating hebrew is very very hard:'you have' is diffrent for the two genders, there is a female form, and a male form, its very complicated, but when you learn it, all the outer langueges are easier.
and its written and readen from right to leftLast edited by super dark33; 2010-12-10 at 06:25 PM.

Re: Murphy's Law 5: To Comic 100...And Beyond!
It was a planetoid that orbited too close to earth. This planetoid had most of the carbon earth needed for life. The debrie kicked up into the air caused a ring around earth similar to saturn. THis ring in turn eventually formed into 2 moons, which lasted a short couple hundread thousand years, before colliding into 1.
I'm dead serious, I watched several different shows on it.

That sounds considerably less complicated than learning French, every substantive have genders and which is which is quite difficult to tell.
Then again, Danish have genders for words that are irrelevant to masculinity and femininity and have absolutely no rules at all so I'm not one to talkTreasured Quotes

Re: Murphy's Law 5: To Comic 100...And Beyond!
Like Mark Twain wrote:
Every noun has a gender, and there is no sense or system in distribution; so the gender of each must be learned separately and by heart. There is no other way. To do this one has to have a memory like a memorandum-book. In German, a young lady has no sex, while a turnip has. Think what overwrought reverence that shows for the turnip, and what callous disrespect for the girl.Avatar by CoffeeIncluded

In spanish nouns that sound and spell masculine can still be feminine.
Also this comic's discussion thread has more filler than naruto and bleach combined...Hate me if you want. But that's your issue to fix, not mine.

Re: Murphy's Law 5: To Comic 100...And Beyond!
Hebrew is relatively easy as it's "Neuter form" is the same as it's "Masculine", where-as there are three genders in romantic languages.
I find it easier to think of "gender" as a declensional thing, and the only constant is that man and woman are in different groups, which would be why it is named as such.Hoc Dictum Videtur Esse Melius In Latine.

Re: Murphy's Law 5: To Comic 100...And Beyond!
Not all romance languages have three, French for example just has the two.
And technically speaking, that's what genders mean; I believe some American languages actually separate genders based on other things than male and female (mobile things, stationary things, and abstract things; for example).

Hey, y'know how we could always be on topic here? We just have to all take turns drawing guest comics about whatever random thing everyone is talking about:

A most harmonic idea, my groovy granola!
Or, said in British, a wonderful idea, chap. Simply wonderful.
I would, but I don't know how much I could help
Which is part of my thesis on Danish being an elaborate prank that got out of hand.
